 Carcosa Today

City of Carcosa tales told

Of city any time and place,

Evil filled, whether new or old.

Inhabited by human race

Who first come to the city, good

Intentioned but so quickly turn

Bad with rest of sinisterhood

Sent to this hell on earth to burn.

With doing the devil's detail,

Grabbing power and money from

The people on a massive scale,

Bold scornful from the evildom.

City of Carcosa now be

The swamp of Washington, D.C.

 Chocoholic Slasher!

Mother's boy, Norman Bates, did be,

In "Psycho" film, a slasher type.

In the tub, victim bled bloody

With a lot of Hollywood hype.

Since the film was in black and white,

Director Alfred Hitchcock chose

To use for blood's visual fright,

Bosco chocolate syrup in flows,

Because the syrup looked more real

Than normal too light red blood fake.

This slashing historic big deal,

All the draining "real blood" did make.

I could get slashing in my head,

If chocolate syrup be bled.

 Coleslaw

From the Netherlands comes coleslaw,

"Kooksla," cabbage salad in Dutch.

To make, start with cabbage head, raw.

I pick purple, like color such.

Use knife, remove core, then chop chop,

Till pieces quite tender and small.

Then take a carrot, cut off top,

Shred and mix with the cabbage all.

For dressing, bunch of mayonnaise,

Add vinegar and lemon juice,

With sugar, salt and pepper phase.

Cool set for week before let loose.

Often called a dish on the side,

But dish out coleslaw full of pride.

 Spoon Full of Woe

The spoon back in the drawer was thrown.

Somewhat bent out of shape it be,

And was cussing in a loud tone

That it was treated so badly.

The fork and the knife were nearby,

Tried to ignore the spoon at first,

But finally both asked it why

Its behavior was of the worst.

So the spoon told the fork and knife

They were two cutlery who had

Luck of good purpose in their life,

But for this poor spoon, luck is bad.

"My life is pointless, yes it's true,"

"So stirring up trouble I do."

 Last Twilight Up Zone Unknown

Last episode of "Twilight Zone"

Starred Rod Serling, but never aired.

Big sponsors did not want it shown,

So with viewing public, not shared.

As normal, at episode end,

Serling to the camera spoke,

Like conversing with a good friend.

And during his chat, Rod did smoke

Cigarettes, and of course the brand,

The show's biggest sponsor did make.

But this time, Rod's chat went unplanned,

Unscripted turn the show did take.

Ros Serling gasped in cig smoke breath,

Fell to the floor and choked to death.

 Next Year's Eve

"Eve of Destruction," song sang back

Decades ago when western world

Wondered if Red China attack

Was 'bout to happen, nuke bombs hurled.

But Red China, not ready then,

Had to build up its wherewithal,

Bet that western world crime and sin

Would rise like the nuke arsenal

Of Red China, getting it on,

Till twenty twenty seven be,

Red China will attack Taiwan,

Will be the eve of World War III.

Red China's been content to wait

For western world's destruction fate.

 My Divided Mind

There be division in my mind,

Torn between my guilt and my pride.

A solution I sought to find,

To no avail, hard as I tried.

Yes, I had treated a friend wrong.

But the same friend had wronged me too.

The guilt I felt in me grew strong,

But the pride in me also grew.

Both these forces, intent to fight.

Such a problem, how could I solve?

I needed find a force for right,

So calmed down and let such evolve.

The guilt and pride faded in me,

As I found some humility.

 For Love of Me

I was the apple of her eye,

And I just knew she would give in,

Then also would involve her guy

With triangled original sin.

I knew I would be picked as best

To appeal to these humankind,

As a divine temptation test.

I mattered too much in their mind,

So she plucked me right off my tree.

And she, then he, each took a bite.

Oh, how they both did so love me.

Then came boom sound with bolt of light.

"You loved to bite, Adam and Eve,"

"Forbidden fruit, pack up and leave!"

 No Peace

Mama held baby in her arms,

And hoping for peace coming, so

Maybe would be gone all war harms,

Off to war, her child would not go.

But Mama's child did grow up, and

No peace did come, but did come war.

Feeling duty to the child's land,

The child went off to fight with more.

And Mama's child was later found,

Just another war casualty.

Back to Mama, child was home bound

For burial of the body.

Yeah, one more Mama, one more shame,

Waiting for peace, that never came.

 Purgatory Garden

In the purgatory does be

Our garden and guardian of

Truth of the dead in secrecy

Of path below or path above.

We provide humans coming here

Determination to await

A sense of maintaining good cheer,

Which ever way does go their fate,

Opening up our blossoms to

Each human needing gift of grace.

We give humans something to do,

Waiting their truth in time and place.

We flowers wish the humans well,

Up to heaven or down to hell.

 Petty Argument

The four elements, earth and air,

And fire and water talked about

The gift that each of them would share

For important birthday, no doubt.

Earth said it would make a clay bust.

Air's gift would be rainbow balloon.

Fire felt a lightning bolt a must.

Water'd sing a sea chanty tune.

What started as a friendly chat

Turned into elementary rift,

Ending up in a vicious spat

As to who's giving the best gift.

And what none of the four could say,

When is Mother Nature's birthday?

 We Let the Swamp Thrive

The swamp called Washington, D.C.,

Critters are roaming left and right,

Power and money hoarded be,

For which, amongst each other fight.

We the People sent this bunch there,

Though some in deep state stuck around,

Doing their dirty bizness where

The sun don't shine in dark swamp ground.

Just their pawns, We the People played.

Their lies and tricks, we're easy fooled.

So don't know why We seem dismayed

That by swamp critters we be ruled.

These swamp critters won't budge no doubt,

Till maybe China clears them out.

 Place Sitting

The year, 1871,

The place, London at home inside.

The mother is asked by her son,

She be painted by him with pride.

At first he did want her to stand.

She said, "No way, I'm 96!"

She looks around the household, and

Of all there, I'm the one she picks.

And so upon me, she does pose.

She's fully supported by me,

As reliable one she chose,

And "Whistler's Mother" comes to be.

I'm so happy I could be there.

Anna posed sitting in this chair.

Legend has it, Circe the witch,

When Odysseus and his crew came,

Her crew turned to pigs with her aim

Of extorting Odysseus for

His sexual favors for her.

He gave in, and Circe did score,

A predatory gal for sure.

Satisfied, Circe returned crew

Back human, they showed some remorse.

They preferred being pigs, yes true!

Another new day break of dawn,

The rat race outside's going on.

I'm in no hurry, so instead

Look outside my high rise window, oh,

The sunny blue sky, very nice.

But other high rise buildings, no,

To our garden, we don't know why.

To us, and so we had to try

We made them comfy, snug and good,

In a warm blanket on the ground.

"Make me some ginger tea," her yell

At me loudly, "And spice it up."

My older sister I know well,

So I hasten to fix her cup.

Big Sis does seem to think I'm at

Her beck and call when Mom and Dad

Are away from our habitat.

I'm good at making tea, but bad

When big Sis really needs to learn

A lesson on being polite

To me, so make her tea to burn

Lesson in her to treat me right.

Sis's smile turned to frown on me,

Gulping down her hot peppered tea.

 Chasing Two Rabbits

Leonard Nimoy (Mr. Spock) said,

"If you chase two rabbits you'll lose"

"Them both." So this quotation led

Me to go to the woods and choose

To find two rabbits and to chase

Them through the woods, and, wow, did they

Give to me a helluva race.

I chased these two rabbits all day,

Then very late into the night.

And then they stopped, surprising me.

Not just two rabbits be in sight,

A hundred rabbits now there be.

These two rabbits being chased, I

Found out they'd time to multiply.

 Art Market and Artist, Depressed

The Dutch artist, Johannes Vermeer,

Lived in Delft along with his wife.

Downturn in his painting career

Caused him a lot of stress and strife.

Eleven living children had,

Sole support from him they did need.

Then the economy turned bad.

The Vermeers suffered, yes indeed.

Sell more his paintings, Johanne tried,

But outside Delft he was unknown.

Deeply depressed, and then he died,

His family left on their own.

 Truth in Two Hearts

One of good heart, one of bad heart,

Both walking on the road did meet.

They stopped, and the good first did start,

And to the bad, gave a good greet.

Whereupon the bad heart did curse,

Giving the good heart, spew of wrath.

When good heart smiled, bad heart did worse,

Kicked down the good heart in the path.

The good heart got back up and went

On with a good life, leaving bad

Heart to a bad life to be spent,

And Judgement upon each be had.

Both hearts when dead went where they should,

Bad went to bad, good went to good.

You were my future that I would

And remember when I was gone,

Bring elements into world war,

Upon my back, feeling serene,

With the sun warmth, in water cool,

Soft breezes ripple 'twixt and 'tween

The gentle splish and splash of wet.

A time and place to daydream of

My wishful desires coming yet,

Of youthful joy falling in love,

Suspended in the here and now.

Into ecstasy I be bound.

Wanting to do what they ought not,

With water wishing just a whim.

Archeologist, fancy word

For grave robber, who dared my curse,

Entering openings within

As vengeful inside this doomed lot,

Until all just rotted away.

My many uses are of worth.

My melting and boiling points be

Highest of all elements, so

Remarkable robustness, me.

For added toughness, I'm a go.

I am immune to attack by

Most acids and bases, and too,

Don't react with water, and I

Am dense as gold, oft sub I do.

By the name tungsten I am known,

In Swedish meaning "heavy stone."

 Boudica

Boudica, Iceni tribe queen

In ancient Britain led attack

Against the Romans, she was keen

On getting independence back.

In rebellion her troops she led

Against the invading empire,

Left 80,000 Romans dead,

Destroyed their battlements with fire.

Emperor Nero in Rome heard

Of Boudica's fighting success,

And fretted so that such occurred,

Generals threatened to fix this mess.

Mass Roman armies sent to war,

Boudica killed, rebelled no more.

 Weary Warrior

A warrior armed to surface bound

To try to find some food I need.

I've left my bunker underground.

Hot sun is punishing indeed.

At twenty first century end,

It's hard for me on planet Earth.

Powerful foes, too few a friend,

Life here now is of little worth.

I cannot stay up here for long.

They have surveillance everywhere,

Detection ability strong.

I have to constantly beware.

One of the last of humans, I

Fight the good fight against A.I.

 We Need More Government Regulation

We the people must understand

Government regulation is

Needed to assure We have banned

Fossil fuel use, a dirty biz.

Better We pay more dollars price

Than price of burning up the Earth.

We have to make the sacrifice

Now, so the future may be worth

Living in the environment scene.

We certainly must be aware,

The more expensive, the more clean.

There's always government welfare.

We pollute less, a worthy goal,

As Chinese burn more dirty coal.

 Wet Brain

A waterfall  of thoughts I find

Are flowing down at a fast pace,

And quickly filling up my mind,

As I'm alone in time and place.

And with no one my thoughts to share,

I've tried to share with furniture,

But never any of them care

To hear as all my thoughts occur.

So I choose not my pen or voice,

As my waterfall of thoughts flow,

And I'm gonna stick to my choice,

As a dive down under I go.

Fast waterfalling thoughts flow down,

And in such deep water, I drown.

 My Best to You, Eloise

When first we met I knew you were

A special lady in my life.

But over time I knew for sure

I'd never have you for a wife.

Because you be of upper class,

And I be just a working guy.

When tender moments came to pass

Between us, I knew in truth I

Had a choice I would have to make.

And I did choose to let you go.

It was the best for both our sake.

I love you, I want you to know.

So as you live as meant to be,

I hope sometimes you'll think of me.

 Cheat or Be Cheated?

I am playing golf with a guy.

There's a heavy bet on the game.

Last hole, and we've played to a tie.

Into the woods, his shot, bad aim.

I go help him look for his ball,

Then go and make a real great shot.

"I found my ball," I hear him call,

Hits it and a gimme he's got,

His ball just inches from the hole.

I know his ball he did not find,

Hit second ball, cheating his goal.

Predicament is on my mind.

Take his ball from my pocket in,

Or keep quiet and let him win?

 Dared Me

On a dare from my boyfriend, I

Walked through the graveyard all alone.

Michael Jackson, the "Thriller" guy,

The cassette played in scary tone.

This setting and the song no doubt

Gave me chills, through night I did walk,

But no ghosts or ghouls seen about,

No vampires or werewolves to shock.

I knew my boyfriend thought I'd be

So frightened, but I did assume

He had finale planned for me,

Yes, he popped from behind a tomb.

His zombie acting very nice,

But certainly no Vincent Price.

 Chop Chop

A tree chopper, looking for wood,

A dogwood tree did come upon,

And thought for chopping did look good,

So chopping this tree did chop on,

The tree felt chop bite in its bark,

And barked out loud, "Stop chopping me."

The chopper thought this quite a lark.

"You are barking up the wrong tree,"

The dogwood loudly did bark out,

Which got the tree chopper more pumped,

And chopped all the quicker, no doubt,

Leaving the dogwood tree quite stumped.

The more the tree chopper did dog,

The more the tree did dialog.

 Train Wreck

An instructor, training a sperm

For conception to undergo.

As teacher taught, pupil did squirm.

Training was going very slow.

"When the siren goes off, rush out"

"The tunnel," the instructor said,

"And swim along the proper route,"

"Till coming to the egg that's red."

The real test came, sperm gave his all.

Fast the sperm went, swimming along.

"You're my egg," he told the red ball.

"No, I'm the tonsil, you turned wrong."

Instructor sighed, said, "What the heck!"

"First time I've had such a train wreck."

 Crazy

The doomsday clock, seconds away

From nuclear apocalypse.

Faster and sooner comes doomsday,

Faster and sooner, crazy grips.

Lots of crazies with wherewithal

To push the buttons needed for

Launch of nuclear arsenal,

Resulting in the third world war.

Odds are a crazy will soon start

Nuclear attack to begin,

Then other crazies will take part,

And all will lose and none will win.

Destroyed, the doomsday clock don't chime,

It is just a matter of time.

 The Hunt

I am hunting a tiger to

Hang its trophy head on my wall.

Once successfully done, I do

Have big cat trophies, one and all.

I am hunting a tiger with

Best high powered rifle around,

And so fret not about the myth

That tiger hunting skills abound.

I am hunting a tiger, sure

By days end I'll have made my kill.

Suddenly, above there's a blur,

And I'm not so sure of my skill.

Determined tiger flies at me,

Tiger's trophy I soon will be.

 Deep Dark Within Me

I have outlived all family,

Living alone in time and place.

Each night is the hardest for me,

When dark and deep, I'm forced to face

Of being in the moment now.

I struggle desperately to find

Something to grab on to somehow,

Allay my fears and calm my mind.

Is this now my final night, or

Will I awake to a new dawn?

Silence, I can't bear anymore.

I have to leave the T.V. on.

More years, poor health, my twilight zone,

I feel afraid to be alone.

 Role Play

The wife wanted us to role play,

Using a movie on a whim,

"The Fast and the Furious," hey,

The wife, hot her and me, hot him.

Wow, the wife dressed her part so well,

Lot of shown skin, scantily clad.

Gonna be so great, I could tell,

The best time in bed to be had.

I dressed the part of a bad dude,

Lots of leather and a shaved head,

Trying to act lustful and lewd,

As I joined the wife on the bed.

We role played the movie for sure,

Fast was me, furious was her.

 House Guest

It is a new house I've come to,

Always interesting for me,

Complete inspection, always do,

Check out what kind of place I be.

Anything lively going on,

I want to check out right away.

Never know what I'll come upon.

A lot can happen night or day,

So whatever, whoever here,

I've got my eyes on one and all.

As airborne, I carefully steer,

Buzzing around from wall to wall.

Just ordinary things for I

On walls land wings of this house fly.

 Change of Approach

Born and raised in the alley, I

Had a Momma who taught me right,

Not be like those who'd screech and cry

All wee hours, but be polite.

My Momma taught me that for sure

Having good manners was best way

To go about impressing her,

Present myself during the day.

Too off putting be nightly roam

And making racket, Momma said,

Better visit her at her home,

Other suitors, I'd be ahead.

So door to door, Tom Cat, I be

Looking for Miss Kitty for me.

 Innocent Intent

I saw her down there, plainly dead.

Something awful happened to her.

Her mouth was oozing bloody red.

I headed down, just to make sure.

A lovely lady she had been.

But now in death, she was pale white,

Victim of horrid crime and sin.

What happened to her, just not right.

And now upon her lips I be.

I hope she wouldn't think me wrong,

Meaning no offense, certainly,

And do not plan on staying long.

I wish not to further assault.

This butterfly seeks source of salt.

 State of the Union

The U.S. torn 'tween them and us,

And torn 'tween the have and have not.

Torn would rather cuss than discuss,

So no solution  really sought.

The U.S. is torn 'tween left and right,

And is torn 'tween the blue and red,

And torn 'tween the white and non white.

More want to tear, less want to thread.

The U.S. is torn by leaders who

Tell the truth less, tell the lies more.

What We the People know be true,

We're heading to a civil war.

State of the U.S. Union be

Helluva lot disunity.

 Log Lady

Called the Log Lady, because she

Always did carry a small log,

And claimed to all that the log be

Often with her in dialog.

And in the woods, Log Lady would

Walk through with the log in her arms.

She felt the woods, her neighborhood,

Protected her from any harms.

Log Lady tried real hard to live

With and among the humankind,

But found her woods had most to give

To better her heart, soul and mind.

"The woods are wondrous here, but strange,"

Log Lady then to tree did change.

 "February" for Me

She likes to write poems a lot.

"February," current one be.

But most of it, as well it ought,

Is written mostly about me,

Especially my morning thing

Of waking up the sleepy head.

So far my ritual's working,

Which would change, come time she be dead.

I don't know what she'd do if I

Was not in her face to wake up.

What a sad soul she'd be if my

Fur ball self wasn't on her, yup!

It's "February," what the heck!

"Purr"fect poem, this cat did check!
