Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Place Sitting

The year, 1871,

The place, London at home inside.

The mother is asked by her son,

She be painted by him with pride.

At first he did want her to stand.

She said, "No way, I'm 96!"

She looks around the household, and

Of all there, I'm the one she picks.

And so upon me, she does pose.

She's fully supported by me,

As reliable one she chose,

And "Whistler's Mother" comes to be.

I'm so happy I could be there.

Anna posed sitting in this chair.
