Frisk Risk

The TSA is all hands on,
Feeling up passengers for stuff
That could cause boom phenomenon.
Passengers gripe enough's enough!
But while we are more paranoid,
What about not cool TSA.
Whose to know that it can avoid
Hiring a terrorist to prey
Upon the passengers that go
Through his or her station to check,
Inserting go boom - whose to know?
Something to ponder - what the heck!

The agent wasn't frisking Mom,
But was in her planting a bomb.

Hand Me Down

I came from the far Asian lands
To London to House of Garrard,
Made beautiful by craftsmen hands.
The multi carat sapphire starred.
I was chosen to be the one
The royal bride to be would wear,
And many years later, her son,
So as to let his mother share
In his time of engagement joy,
Gifted me to his future bride.
The prince had been but just a boy
When his mother had sadly died.

No matter on whose hand I swing,
I am ever Diana's ring.

Give to Get More

Oprah gives her favorite things,
Which are given to her to show
By the makers as marketings.
It's all show biz - doncha know?
Royal Caribbean Crusises floats
And United Airlines Inc flies.
Profits move the planes and the boats,
And Oprah too - that's no surprise.
So gifts are just tricks of the trade
To get promoted on the air.
And so long as profits are made,
That's all the givers really care.

A special cruise surprise will be -
Leave passengers stranded at sea.

Piece v Peace

The slow boiling frog metaphor
Is used by many to describe
American ways more and more.
But with all that scold diatribe,
We just continue to be dumb,
Letting the powers that be pinch
Us harder under big gov's thumb,
Socializing us inch by inch.
Day by day the dependence creeps,
Taking away more liberty.
Peace is what the government keeps.
It is just spelled differently.

Yes, government does keep the piece.
We have many pieces to fleece.

Hi Tech Teeth

Nanotitanium is quite
A mouthful to say and 'twill soon
Be used so as to give a bite
To human teeth quite opportune.
Super metal from the cold war,
Bonding weapons but also bone.
So now it can be useful for
The strongest choppers ever known.
All and anything can be chewed.
The mouth will be a blender bliss
For any lucky chick or dude.
But be careful giving a kiss.

From cold war to dental implant,
To chew on stuff that others can't.

Twitter Quitter

On Twitter, Hubby spilled his guts,
Telling about the family -
Real personal stuff - he was nuts,
And consequences came to be.
We were easy targets of crime.
Thieves used the info Hubby spilled,
And we were robbed all the time.
One of us is gonna get killed.
Hubby was cautioned by police
To be a little more discreet,
But still his fingers would not cease
Blabbing our biz, tweet by tweet.

Hubby no longer tweets, instead
I made the Twitter twit drop dead.

Going, Going, Gone

American parents once dreamed
Prosperity would ever grow
As did the kids, and so it seemed
The better life was all we'd know.
But then we let big government
Grow into selfish bully brats.
Worse than socialism, we went
To being conned by bureaucrats,
Who only care about the now,
And playing at the power game.
It's really no mystery how
To such a sad state we became.

American prosperity -
A true national tragedy.

Fixed

Barney's going back to D.C.
Massachusetts said let him go,
But no more chairmanship to be,
Just a powerless so and so,
Ranting and raving from the back,
While longing for the good ol' days
With Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
Shafting taxpayers many ways.
He's a survivor, yes he is.
Decades echo his mouthy lisp,
Spewing forth the lib's big gov biz.
Going back, but this time a wisp.

Barney is back in after all,
But not as big belle of the ball.

Below the Beltway

Groin kicking is the legal way
That pols and buros of gov do
Make masochistic public play
That game of kicks on all by few.
Most of us just stand still and wait
For pols and buros to take aim,
And then we feel the painful fate
Of being groin kicked in the game.
We public huff and puff that we
Aren't gonna take it anymore,
But all that happens is we be
Still doing zilch and feeling sore.

Groin kicking rates keep going up.
Lessen the pain and get a cup.

The Big Pave

Thousands of miles, decades of time,
Billions of dollars, interstate
U.S. highways became the prime
Means of making travelling great.
Multi lanes, gentle curves and grades,
Service chains to accomodate,
Signs of informational aids,
Cruising along from state to state,
Crisscrossing like a checkerboard,
The highway system did connect.
Happy would have been Henry Ford,
His model T did cause effect.

Sometimes I thought I would explode.
Dad rarely stopped, once on the road.

The farmers' hero, atrazine,
Mighty weed killer of all time,
Convicted by crusading green
Of environmental high crime.
Sentenced to being banned from use,
Mighty killer of weeds no more.
The weeds are free to wreak abuse.
Higher food prices at the store.
Chemophobia grips the land.
Pests are free to do as they please.
One by one chem heroes are banned.
The weeds are laughing in the breeze.

Atrazine banned, so they are back,
The weed army on the attack.

The Dalai Lama has for years
Travelled the world so to remind
Of the Chinese long domineers
Of Tibet are not right or kind.
There is a Sioux medicine man
Who for years has travelled about
Denouncing the U.S. war span
Forcing all the Sioux nations out.
To conquer and be conquered are
The ebb and flow of human way.
A nation's like a falling star,
Forever it will just not stay.

In due time the world will forget
That China invaded Tibet.

Obama stops in Air Force One.
His Dem Congress is history.
A bit of buy time must be done.
He tells his chef to brew some tea.
Some of the Repubs won on it.
He spikes it with a drug snoozie,
Then welcomes them from the cockpit.
He's gonna fly around Congress,
And do his thing by exec whim.
Asleep Repubs will too late guess,
To do anything to stop him.

"Up front I've got more czars to pack,"
"But you Repubs can sit in back."

Fake for Real

A candidate needs money most
To sell the voters on him/her.
Commercials air from coast to coast,
From ridicule to downright slur,
To make the opponent look bad,
So the candidate is the choice.
Paid actors are used in the ad
So to give a "real" look and voice.
The candidate is used as well,
If he/she can stick to a script,
That the pros wrote to try to sell
The candidate as trusty dipped.

Most candidates running are rich
With a made for T.V. sales pitch.

All Albania

Albania has been it all,
Starting as a mixed tribal bag.
The Roman Empire came to call,
But failed to hold the whole rag tag.
Byzantine and Ottomans tried.
Nazis and kings, they came and went.
The Communists could not decide
Which red flavor to implement.
Upon dictator Hoxha's death,
Democracy got its first chance.
Capitalists - don't hold your breath,
Berisha's just the latest dance.

Albania through history,
A time and place with A.D.D.

I was at a job interview.
All the furniture was cardboard.
My maybe boss made a to do.
The stuff had won many award.
There was a cardboard wishing wall.
I was given paper, hot pink.
After being asked, I did scrawl
A wish - no time to make a stink.
I stuffed the scrap into a hole.
My maybe boss was all asmile.
I thought about the big payroll.
That was the substance over style.

I wished that wherever I sat
On cardboard, I would not fall flat.

Need to Bleed

The Chile miners, safe and sound,
Pulled forth from the bowels of hell,
Of sixty eight days underground.
Oh that is such good news to tell.
And all the media worldwide
Give this story priority,
Portraying the positive side
Of what the world does hear and see.
But it will all be sweet and short,
'Cause negatives get the most sales.
Successful sellers seek to court
Audiences with bloody tales.

Rarely good news does take the lead,
But skeptics predict soon 'twill bleed.

Social Security should be
Tied to the minimum wage.
The Fed gov folks then soon would see
If lower wages, then bye bye fate,
'Cause more and more the power gray
Will decide what big gov will do.
The old folks can command more pay,
Because they vote much more - 'tis true.
Libs can outsmart conservs on this
By pandering to the old vote.
Make minimum wage living bliss,
Give young more promissory note.

The lower the minimum wage,
The higher the oldies' vote rage.

Groucho Turns 120

Asked about my name, Julius,
This the story I would tell.
An uncle who was an old cuss
Did live with us and made life hell.
But Mom and Pop thought he was rich.
To make Unc points, when I was born,
I got his name in hopes he'd pitch
His wealth to us when we did mourn
His passing. When it came - not good.
We got his used razor blade crop,
An 8 ball and a piece of wood.
He owed eighty five bucks to Pop.

Julius was just some cheap name.
Groucho brought me fortune and fame.

The Chinese just can't get enough
Of U.S. produced chicken feet.
The Chinese love to eat the stuff.
So what the heck - bon appetit'.
The Chinese government got miffed,
And did curtail the paws' imports.
Chinese billions began to shift.
Mass uprisings came the reports.
Only chicken feet could restore
Order among the Chinese folk.
The U.S. sold the paws galore.
China was spared chaos - no joke!

In the U.S. there are some fears
The Chinese like caucasian ears.

I was an army soldier sent
To Iraq to fight in a war
Where so many lives have been spent
To serve Americans home more.
I did my service all and well,
And came home to resume my life.
Jobless, homeless - life became hell.
Each passing day is filled with strife.
The government gives me red tape
Which doesn't help me on the street.
I keep searching for an escape.
In the meantime I scrounge to eat.

I'm just one female homeless vet
Of thousands and more to be yet.

Walk About

Sarah Shourd along with two friends
Were taking a walk just for fun.
Iran said they had spying ends,
So their leisurely stroll was done.
Sarah finally got released,
And did an Oprah interview,
Saying she thought the Middle East
Was mostly safe for walking through,
But just needed more signs that read
"This is Iran - do not walk here."
The interview done, Sarah said,
"I need a walk, my head to clear."

Then Oprah said, "Girlfriend, let's talk,"
"Chicago is not safe to walk."

Model of unfree enterprise.

Flintstones Turn 50

Before the Simpsons or Southpark,
The Flintstones reigned prime toon supreme.
The family show left its mark
With funny stuff, not too extreme.
The show started in black and white,
Then went to color, as T.V.
Showed humor innocently light.
Laughtracks cued when the laughs should be.
Traditional husband and wife.
At home Wilma and at work Fred
Lived animated cave folk life,
Never together in one bed.

Flintstones - Happy Birthday to you
For 50 - yabba dabba do.

Enough for all to jump upon.

Last of Past

Upon the Serengeti Plain
Still migrate herds of wildebeest,
Instinctively following rain
For fresh grass upon which to feast.
Thousands together in a herd,
Such numbers now rare in the wild.
An anomaly has occurred.
For the time being nature smiled.
For some reason man has not done
Wildebeest extermination.
But when man notes a lack of fun,
Wildebeest will no longer run.

One day only man will migrate,
Nothing left to exterminate.

When Ike's ball took an errant swim,

When the President hit the links,
He would mix politics with fun.

Would make the round before 'twas done.

Often away from the West Wing,
President Ike did like to swing.
