 Barefoot in the Woods

I'm walking in the woods one day,

Take off my shoes and walk barefoot,

Feel closer to nature this way,

As toes into the mud I put,

Now truly one of nature's own.

Then from the bushes I do hear

An ominous loud growling tone.

No time to put on shoes I fear,

So through the mud I start to run.

But have good hunch that in this race

I am for sure the losing one,

Barefooted I keep a poor pace.

Barefooted I climb up a tree.

Barefooted bear climbs after me.

 Christmas Wish

You are stationed so far away,

Serving your nation in times bad.

We'd be apart on Christmas Day.

I know that makes both of us sad.

Tonight on Christmas Eve I went

Outside and walked through fallen snow.

And up into the sky I sent

My wish to a star all aglow.

Then back to our home went I,

And fell asleep thinking of you.

Awakened, I began to cry.

My wish for Christmas had come true.

I wished upon a Christmas star,

And you and I together are.

 Christmas Scarf

Through the night blowing in the wind,

I felt of purpose, I did go.

Inside a stable I did end,

And meant to be here I did know.

Just born and in a manger lay

The baby Jesus wrapped up warm.

But Mother Mary near him stay

With no protection from cold's harm.

Then Joseph saw and picked up me.

We went to Mary, he gave her

Me. so of purpose I could be,

For Mary a warm scarf for sure.

Placed gently 'round her neck I will

Help Mary ward off the night chill.

 Chosen for Christmas

Once upon a time I lived in

A fir tree that was very small,

The branches very weak and thin,

Under other fir trees so tall.

Into the forest came one night

Father Christmas in a search of

A Christmas tree with much delight,

And giving all a lot of love.

And so I pulled my tree from root,

I flew us two through the sky and

Danced in a successful pursuit.

Father Christmas took us in hand.

Happily ever after be

This fairy in a Christmas tree.

 Christmas Carrot

With a bunch of others I wait,

Ready and able Christmas Eve

To be transported from this plate

For higher purpose I believe.

And sure enough late in the night,

Down the chimney Santa does come,

Bearing gifts for the kids' delight.

Milk and cookies, Santa has some.

As he's leaving we carrots be

Grabbed by Santa and taken up

For the reindeer, along goes me,

Proud moment for this carrot, yup!

I am on a mission to do.

Rudolph, I am tagged just for you.

 Journey of Love

It's Christmas Eve at the North Pole.

Frosty the Snowman and the elves,

With festive spirit as the goal,

Stuff stockings on the workshop shelves.

All around are the Yuletide sights.

On the Christmas tree fruitcake hung.

Twinkling about be Christmas lights.

Christmas carol to rejoice be sung.

Mrs. Claus has a wish well gift,

Holds mistletoe o'er Santa Claus,

Gives him a smooch that does uplift

Him on his way for a good cause.

Sleigh bells ring for Jolly Ol' to

Make merry all with reindeer crew.

Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Christmas Firewood

On early Christmas Eve we were

Placed by Dad into the fireplace,

Fine firewood pieces each for sure,

A lovely fire we would showcase,

And be a festive warmup that

For young and old would have appeal

In the family habitat,

Giving a Merry Christmas feel.

Later, the kids went off to bed.

In front of us stared Mom and Dad.

And then they too left us instead

Of first putting us out, their bad.

When we heard Santa up above,

We self extinguished out of love.

Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Christmas Slippers

It's almost time for Santa Claus

To head out into his long night.

Just before leaving he does pause

And gives us slippers red and white

To Mrs. Claus in the shape of

Santa's face so Mrs. Claus can

Remember Santa with much love,

While out giving gifts is her man.

Mrs. Claus tells Santa she'll miss

Him dearly as she always does.

And then she gives Santa a kiss,

Says we're best slippers ever was.

Off come us slippers, white and red,

As Mrs. Claus goes back to bed.

 Black Rose

When you were younger you did be

Not much in thought of when I'd come.

In fact you rarely thought of me.

But you could never escape from

The fate of time and place when I

Would have appointment to find you.

For sure you'd make my list to die,

And there be nothing you could do

To change appointed time and place.

Both of us knew sometime, somewhere,

You and I would come face to face,

And why I came, you'd be aware.

I am Black Rose, angel of death,

Come to you now to take your breath.

 Let There Be Light

"In the beginning," Bible told,

"God created heaven and earth."

Lots of darkness the earth did hold.

God decided it would be worth

Shining some light on this dark world.

God's fingers snapped and there did be

A lot of shining light unfurled.

And God thought, "Good idea from Me."

But over time there came to light

A lot of stuff that gave God woe.

God could see a lot was not right,

An awful bunch of sin did show.

So let there be light was God's will,

But was shocked when God got the bill.

Sense Sonnet - Tickler

 Disappointer

I am an accessory to

Making my lady look quite fit.

Once I am around her I do

Make it harder for her to sit.

And when my she does find a he,

And lusts to turn into a them,

Fingers struggling to unwrap me

May cause a lot of angst mayhem.

I'm silk outside but inside steel,

Lots of buttons, hooks and laces.

I help give her her sex appeal,

But spoiler in many cases.

As a corset I've often felt

Odds are I'm a chastity belt.

 Wintering Ways

I belong to a grove of trees.

Many a winter we have shared,

With natural efficiencies,

Helps me and others be prepared.

I go into a dormancy.

My leaves are gone but that's okay.

I don't need as much energy.

Needed nutrients make their way

Up from my roots so to suffice

Needs, including antifreeze stuff

To help prevent forming of ice.

Through winter I fare well enough.

And my root system allows me

To share nutrients, tree to tree.

 Judging Myself

Quite busy the devil does be,

All the time all around the world,

As often judged by pious me.

Devilish thoughts and acts unfurled,

And I of course do smugly say,

"I told you so" for what it's worth.

The devil rules all night, all day,

Causing a constant hell on Earth.

So I sing my judgmental tune

To any and all who would hear.

But hypocrite, I'm not immune,

And the devil does oft appear.

Whenever I have urge to sin,

I know I've let the devil in.

 Journey of Purpose

They traveled from their homes afar.

Cautiously, they traveled at night

By following a brilliant star,

Guiding them under heaven's light.

At last their journey safely made,

They came to town of Bethlehem.

A beam of starlight was displayed

Over a small stable to them.

Into this stable the three went,

And each knew what a wise one knows.

A precious gift each did present

For the infant in swaddling clothes.

The Three Wise Men paid homage to

Baby Jesus, King of Kings, true.

Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 The Miracle Birth

Joseph and Mary, pregnant wife,

Pregnant before the two had met,

Knew she carried a holy life.

The world around did not know yet.

Reaching Bethlehem town they knew

The Baby's birth would soon occur.

Shelter of stable, both made due,

Awaiting the miracle pure.

And Mary birthed, less pain, more joy,

Wrapped the Baby in swaddling clothes,

And in a manger placed the Boy,

The Son of God who heaven chose.

On that very first Christmas morn

The Baby Jesus Christ was born.

Sense Sonnet - Acher

 From a Manger

Born in a stable, truth be known,

Not in a palace grand and fine,

In a manger not on a throne

The King of Kings did come divine,

Not in the grandeur of rich Rome,

But in humble Bethlehem town.

He had been sent from heaven's home,

Wearing cloth rags, no robes or crown.

And angels came down from above

To give the news of this King's birth,

Who would reign all with peace and love,

Be salvation for all on Earth.

King of Kings, Baby  Jesus Christ,

For human sins be sacrificed.

 Pure Hearted Poet

Born to be a poet, I thought

With purity of heart I could

Think up wonders yet to be sought,

Then pen such wonders for the good.

Alas, alive I was ignored,

My poems rarely ever read.

The critics said that they were bored,

But changed their tune once I was dead.

Hit by a train was how I died.

My sister said I was depressed,

So I committed suicide.

From some of my poems, she guessed.

The devil bid, but I won't part

With all I've got left, my pure heart.

 Let Truth Be Love

Loss of a loved one is no doubt

A truth that's both painful and sad.

But such is what life is about,

And good lessons learned may be had.

Especially to be learned by

Children with a long life ahead.

When loved one of a child does die,

Memory need never be dead.

Time with loved ones be gift of

A precious treasure the child should

Share with others, the gift of love.

That be the truth and that be good.

Yes, sad and painful truth can be,

But is for good shared lovingly.

 Santa's Carryon

So many a Christmas Eve, I

Have sat with Santa in the sleigh,

As with the reindeer we do fly

'Round the world, up, up and away.

Just any carryon I'm not.

I've never any wear and tear,

And I'm adaptable a lot.

For any and all toys I'm there,

Able to stretch to fit the need

For each and every girl and boy.

Santa depends on me indeed

To have ready just the right toy.

Christmas bags or sacks are sure fun,

But I'm the original one.

Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Christmas Yule Log Cake

A Christmas Yule Log cake is me,

Made to look like a real Yule log

Found in a fireplace, but I be

Meant to eat, maybe with eggnog.

Cake batter choice is rolled into

A cylinder, I'm baked till done.

Then there's icing of choice to do,

Fork poked to look like bark for fun.

Sprinkling of powdered sugar does

Give a festive snowed upon sight.

I know I won't have much time, cuz

Now I'm an edible delight.

I hope some pictures taken will

Show me before tummies I fill.

 Resilient Me

When just a wee seed I was blown

By winds across the isle to where

I suc"seed"ed by being sown

In a driveway, not sure I'd fare

Well there with all the foot and wheel.

But Mom Nature saw fit to let

Me grow into a plant with zeal.

First came my green leaves, then to get

Yellow and purple blooms to show

Over and over through the year,

Now lasting through some freeze and snow.

Resilient, I still appear.

As pay forward, this pansy sends

My seeds with love into the winds.

Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Stretcher

A raging river 'twixt and 'tween

Me and my love on other side.

Fate of nature did intervene,

So something daring need be tried.

I firmly rooted myself to

The river bank in a firm hold.

Stretch over I began to do,

Feeling the river's spray of cold.

Now I was on a mission of

Stretching over the river so

In the future I'd join my love.

Of course my stretching was quite slow.

I know a long time it will be

To stretch the river by this tree.

Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Creek Peek

Winter time and the first snowfall,

A row of trees along a creek,

Limbs icy white on each and all.

At each other, each tree does peek.

The tree nearest the creek wants to

See all itself so to compare

If be the coolest looking tree

Of all the trees in a row there.

So the tree ponders how it could

Have a full view of itself so

The tree wonders if the creek would

Reflect upon the tree to show.

Mirrored in the calm creek water pool,

The tree sees that it looks most cool.

 Squatters

A condemned tenement house is

Where we decided to move in.

Squatting is just family biz

Done over and over again.

It is no secret that we're here.

When would be trespassers show up,

One or more of us do appear,

And off go uninvited, yup!

The neighbors are okay with us

Keeping all the riff raff away.

So none of them have made a fuss.

And for a while here's where we'll stay.

This abandoned building does be

Now home for this skunk family.

 Call for Cassie

The Christmas tree's just been put up.

I hear call, "Cassie," in the air

My human is calling this pup.

No doubt about some Christmas wear.

Every Christmas without fail,

When the tree's up it's the time of

Showing me off from head to tail.

My human I do truly love.

A picture taken by the tree

Of me is tradition to do.

Donned with gay apparel is me,

Festively clad, an awesome view.

So here I pose in my new dress,

Good humoring humans I guess.

Sense Sonnet - Chiller

 Cover You Up

"Cover me up" you'd yell at me

In a rage, drunk, waving your gun.

I was abused and used to be

Just a toy for you to have fun.

You'd grab me and tear off my dress,

Yelling at me this was a test,

One that I always failed I guess.

For way too long I tried my best.

Always ordering me around,

Made me leave my boots by the bed,

When away from you I was bound.

But then I grabbed your gun instead.

No more doing me all your hurt,

Cover you up with cellar dirt.

Took a Bite

The wife was right and I was wrong

About an argument we had

I figured she would not take long,

And she'd get over being mad.

Lunch time, sure enough I was right,

The wife cooked me up a game bird,

Which I then knew from my first bite,

"Delicious" be the the correct word.

Told the wife and she smiled at me.

Not sure what kind of bird, so I

Then asked what kind of bird this be.

And the wife gave me her reply,

"I'm right, you're wrong, just so you know,"

"You have just begun to eat crow."

 I Was Not Wished Well

Left my mother-in-law and wife

At the house and walked to the park.

Guess who had moved in and my life

Was looking very bleak and dark!

My wife's mother did not like me.

Oft she'd told me that to my face.

Now living in my home she'd be

Sure hell for me in time and place.

Came to a wishing well, and I

Threw in a coin but then I find

My wish has gone and hit stone dry,

Which I too hit, pushed from behind.

Thanks to mother-in-law I dwell

Forever in this wishing well.

On the 1980 one aired,

Plotted with intent to inspire.

 Gnome Sense

First winter for the little gnome.

A White Christmas he's hoping for.

From the window of his tree home,

He watches the sky cloud up more.

Then puts on coat, mittens and hat,

And hurries out into the wood

Where everywhere snowflakes are at,

And the little gnome feels so good.

He smells the fresh, he sees the white,

Hears the silence and feels the chill,

Sensing all this to his delight,

And wants to taste a snowflake still.

No taste discovers the gnome young,

But snowflakes sure tickle his tongue.

 On Duty

I've been specially trained to be

On guard for any poachers who

Dare to share time and place with me.

I'm real good at the job I do.

Wild animals in this preserve

Are protected by law, but still

Too many poachers have the nerve

To trespass here, seeking to kill

Just for a tusk or horn or skin

To sell on black markets that thrive.

I'm trained not to kill but to pin

The poacher till police arrive.

Hey poacher, I'm not your best friend.

Pink flowers abloom on the ground.

The color chosen to abound,

As Mom Nature makes her spring call

To paint a picture fresh and new.

She chooses color pink of all

The colors for her art to hue.

For color pink provides a sight

Giving the viewer cause to feel

That the world is better for bright,

And any passerby must think,

 Piano Mood

One night for some reason I woke

In a piano playing mood.

So sat down and began to poke

Upon the keys for an etude.

The wolves did howl, the bats did squeak

As I did pound and I did bang.

Oblivious to bad critique,

Some just have no music taste, dang.

This vampire kept playing and cursed

All those who scorned me, what the heck!

Then I developed a blood thirst,

Maybe bad ear, maybe good neck.

Cuz my Bach is worse than my bite.

I was young when the angels came,

And told my shepherd the news of

Then the angels returned above.

Was placed near the baby born new.

Remembering often I am,

Being with this baby a while,

His tiny fingers tugged my wool.

Baby Jesus gave me His smile.

With pride and joy my heart was full.

China will be the answer to

A takeover China will do,

Exactly how is not known yet.

It could be ways and means of war,

But very likely peacefully,

As U.S.A. gets more and more

 Christmas Bell

An old and small and tarnished bell

Fallen off of a harness, I

In the stable corner did dwell.

I had no purpose and so my

Ringing no longer did occur.

But then that night there came the birth.

I felt a miracle for sure,

Such an event that it be worth

My time and place to ring my best.

So from the stable rang my sound,

And for such purpose I felt blessed.

I became heard the whole world 'round.

First bell to ring that Christmas morn,

Always going to end up good.

As Pepita walked to the square,

She picked some wild weeds meant to be

Silent is most humanity.

To the truth most are deaf and blind,

Believing the lies silently,

As hate infects all humankind.

Use and abuse of the word, "love,"

For any true peace and good will,

Silenced by reality so

Is an impossible dream still,

As liars and haters all know.

Humanity will be no more.

And not doing you any good.

But with you gone the truth I learned,

And all the sad and pain I knew.

A change for the better I turned,

And back into my life came you.

Back together again and we'll

With love make my broken heart heal.

 Blompy

A blompasaurus I did be.

You can call me Blompy for short.

An extinct dinosaur is me,

Of the banana eating sort.

So far the humans have not named

Me, cuz no bones of mine be found.

But word of mouth can get me famed,

So please do spread the word around.

As a dino I was quite cute,

Very huggable like a plush.

Only in banana pursuit

Was I ever in any rush.

Eat enough bananas and you

Can be a Blompy like me true!

But Baby In Time I'll Heal

But  Baby, sometimes I think of

The questions I should have asked you when

You were alive and we shared love,

Maybe a difference would have been,

And ever after happily

Together we'd live and grow old,

Me warming you, you warming me.

But in a closet you left cold,

Hanged yourself and left me with just

Lots of unanswered questions why.

Now alone without you I must

Just wonder why you chose to die.

I'm getting help to get me through

My guilt and shame for losing you.

 "Better Man"

"I wish you were a better man,"

A line in "Better Man," the song

Written by Taylor Swift, her plan,

In next album to come along.

But was cut from final track list,

Making Taylor feel somewhat down.

But Taylor being optimist

Gave it to group, Little Big Town,

Believed their vocal harmonies

Would give her song a boost to hear.

Thanks to many fan devotees,

2016 Song of the Year.

"Taylor's Version" in '21,

Her singing "Better Man" was done.

 Christmas Chocolate Coins

Christmas chocolate coins be us,

Wrapped in foil of glittering gold,

Symbol of the Saint Nicholas

Giving gold coins in times of old.

Stocking stuffing favorite, we

Every Christmas morn be found,

Filling the finder with such glee.

From fingers to mouth we be bound.

Yes, we look like the real thing,

Imprinted with markings unique.

Some of us be for collecting,

Under safe cover just to peek.

But most of us are gone in haste,

Unwrapped and enjoyed in good taste.

Sense Sonnet - Acher

 On Every Christmas

On every Christmas ever be

War be waging somewhere on Earth,

Seems to be human destiny.

True will of God has little worth.

On every Christmas children die,

Put in harm's way by waging war.

Adults keep asking question why,

But killing goes on more and more.

On every Christmas there be talk,

Peace on Earth and good will toward men.

But not listening is war's clock,

Children be killed time and again.

On every Christmas we need pray

The children not be killed today.

 Christmas Mince pies

The last Sunday before Advent

Is called stir up Sunday when we

Mince meat pies become evident,

Lots of stirring of us there be.

We should be stirred clockwise so that

There will be good luck coming year

For all the household habitat.

Whole family stirs us so we're

Spreading the joy to everyone.

Then for Christmas on all twelve days

Eating a mince pie should be done

So good health and happiness pays.

On Christmas Eve put mince pies out,

For Santa Claus loves us no doubt.

 Christmas Sweater

I came about from human thought

Trying to spare the Christmas tree.

So balls of yarn two cats got,

One green, one red, so began me.

Each cat did take a yarn ball and

Unraveling and then did knit

In a manner as though they'd planned

I'd be in end someone to fit.

Each of the cats did knit a half

Of me, then put together fine

The whole me, and those cats did laugh,

Off to the tree went each feline.

The cats played so well their yarn game,

A Christmas sweater I became.

 Fairy Fay

Fairy Fay left her fairyland,

And flew way up to the North pole,

To interview with Santa and

Turn into an elf was her goal.

Santa was happy to see Fay,

And, yes, one had to be an elf

To work the shop, but she should stay

As a fairy and be herself.

Santa could see that Fay was sad,

So asked Mrs. Claus for her aid.

Good thoughts Mrs. Claus always had,

And, yes, a solution was made.

Fairy Fay stayed a fairy 'cause

She got to help out Mrs. Claus.

 I Was Naughty

I'd been a naughty kid all year,

But figured Santa might have missed

Me and my name might not appear

As one on Santa's naughty list.

I know my folks were in a fit

Over my bad behavior so

When I found them on Inter Knit,

I thought ugly sweater, oh no.

Such a hard and cruel punishment

Was a forced Christmas fate for sure.

Forgiveness should be sentiment,

And awesome gifts given to me.

Big ugly sweater Santa brought,

A sumo wrestler's what I got.

 Gnome Poem

Googling gnome poem, I found out

It's a verse for memory aid,

Not necessarily about

A gnome, an assumption I'd made.

Meaningful sayings put in verse

To help remember, from old Greek,

Known as gnomes for better or worse,

To keep a memory at peak.

So in verse this tidbit I pen,

Maybe meaningful, maybe not,

That I remember this again,

Which lots of time I have forgot.

Hope this verse helps my memory.

A forgetful gnome I can be.

 Giving Christmas a Bad Name

Christmas Eve 2023,

Law partners, no where else to go.

So an office party does be.

Very flirtatious Miss L. Toe

Is kissing up to firm founder,

The drunk red nosed Sir Red N. Deer,

Who sobers up when around her,

So moves on to pour some more cheer.

Mr. Chris T. Mess has, no doubt,

A lust for Miss Candy P. Cane,

Who  gives a licking, knocks him out,

Giggling while watching him in pain.

Santa flies over this mayhem,

Naughty girls and boys, all of them.

 Have "Rizz," Will Satisfy

Dictionary word of the year,

"Rizz" for 2023.

The definition does appear,

Seductive charm, and yes that's me.

I'm just starting out in my trade.

Lots of competition so need

A really catchy line that's laid

Out to bring in the biz indeed.

If I really "rizz" up my deal,

Profitable outcome should show.

Known as the "rizzest" I sure feel

A john will want to pick this pro.

Slogan for opening up biz,

 Morning Dew

In early morning I do find

An object that's exposed and thin.

Most plants for me are welcome bind.

When object's ready I begin.

The object's in a cool down phase,

Reaches that point when I condense,

Causing water droplets to raise,

Gives the object surface a rinse.

Then as the morning does progress,

Depending on the heat up rate,

My water droplets become less

The more that I evaporate.

Each morning I can come anew,

And when I do, I'm morning dew.

 Christmas Present

A Christmas present is what I'm

Given and received, one to one,

Happening over Christmas time,

Meant to be lots of joy and fun.

Oft in very festive wrapped box

With bright colored ribbon and bow,

Waiting till opening time clocks,

Under the Christmas tree to show.

I may be big, I may be small.

Sometimes some eager fingers do

Shake me to try to guess what all

Secrets I hold inside me, true.

My given and received is of

The giving and receiving love.

 Joined the Band

Midday as I took my catnap

In the alley, I was woke up

By the loud sounds of beat and rap,

Down Main Street a marching band, yup.

Out of the alley I did come

To watch and hear this band so fine.

The blare and pound of horn and drum.

Precision impressed this feline.

So then and there in act unplanned,

I decided to show my how

As I joined in the marching band.

For me it was this cat's meow.

In the band I did represent

As a "purr"cussion instrument.

 My Life's Greatest Moment

Emotional reaction to

Greatest moment of my life be

Rather difficult in my view,

Emotions kind of new for me.

My greatest life moment, but I

Am kind of hazy on details.

All was so new is my guess why,

Plus I was kind of dumb and frail.

My life's greatest moment indeed,

And there's no doubt I'm very glad

I was result of a sown seed

And then be born to Mom and Dad.

I was when born, I'm pretty sure,

Emotionally immature.

 One Little Christmas Tree

One little Christmas tree was all

The orphanage could afford for

The little orphans in the hall,

The little tree bare on the floor.

Then over night on Christmas Eve,

When little orphans were asleep,

Came the miracle to receive,

Many bright colored lights did leap

Upon the little tree and 'round

The little tree were presents of

Toys and clothes and food to abound,

Filling the orphans' home with love.

One little Christmas tree brings joys

For Christmas and we're all brought out,

The ornaments, including me.

Hope I get a good spot, no doubt.

Participating in this fun.

Fingers are grabbing ball by ball.

I think that I am the next one.

Five year old Jack's fingers are on

Me as he makes a low hand pitch.

I know he, as branch I do don,

Just ate a tuna fish sandwich.

Smelling fishy meant my end, yup,

Now the house cat's busted me up.

I'm called a Christmas cracker cuz

When pulled apart I send a crack.

Then the pulling me apart does

Present my gifts that I give back,

Colorful crown shaped hat and joke

The winning puller gets to keep.

I'm quite a hit with younger folk

For Christmas fun that I do heap.

My kind have been around a while.

A couple hundred years we've brought

A Christmas chuckle and a smile

As sounds of crack are heard a lot.

Once, Norman Rockwell painted me,

Being pulled by young he and she.

 Better Perspective

I was in a state of despair.

All life around looked oh so bleak.

Just sadness I saw everywhere.

Glimmer of hope I longed to peek

Sorrowful soul walking I did be,

In dead of winter dark at night.

Then a butterfly flew to me,

Perched on my cheek with such insight

Into life's ways, how I would cope,

Suddenly seeing life through

The lens of a gift of new hope.

From my cheek the butterfly flew.

Life is more beautiful when I

Look through wings of a butterfly.

 Very Scary

A horror tale I have to tell,

Of a gothic nature I guess.

Was warned by my kind it was hell

To leave my home, but I did, yes.

From my home up high I went down

To try to make some friends anew

Who I'd encounter in the town.

But the townspeople acted, true,

As badly as warned by my kind.

With weapons, townsfolks attacked me.

I made escape, left such behind,

Lucky as a gargoyle could be.

I made it home and took my perch,

Safe from humans atop the church.

 Christmas Holly Tree

A Christmas holly tree as I

Am celebrated Christmas time.

There be a story as to why.

Gospel of Matthew says that I'm

The reason baby Jesus and

Mary and Joseph were saved from

Some Roman soldiers who had planned

Them harm, sight of me was welcome.

I beckoned them to me and I'd

Bent 'round the three my branches so

Baby Jesus and folks could hide.

Then soon the soldiers off did go.

Mary gave blessings to this tree,

And now all year, green I do be.

Maintain righteousness in God's name,

And quote Scripture in bona fides.

The other side's wrong and is to blame.

I joined the side I live and love,

And for three years I fought through hell,

Just kept praying to God above

That back with Ida I would dwell.

No matter how this war came out,

God knows that all of us have lost,

And never will regain no doubt.

Ida and I will bear such cost.

Thank God beloved Ida's nearby,

And holding me close as I die.

Distant lands to Bethlehem where

Birth of baby Jesus had come,

Born in a stable manger there.

Because of star light from me shone,

The wise men safely made their way,

And then made the miracle known

Of Jesus born on Christmas Day.

Concerned there be the circumstance

Maybe my Daddy did hurt me,

Sweet little me feels on my own.

Feel better that I dance alone.

 Have to Ask

Architect of the universe,

Why did You build the perfect Earth,

And then built from the best to worse?

Humankind added woeful worth.

In fact because of humans now

This whole world is in danger of

A total destruction somehow.

What once was created with love

Now's spoiled by human greed and hate.

There's no changing such human mind,

Bringing about Earth's final fate,

Unless is undone humankind.

With a deep sadness I do pray

From Earth make humans go away.

Dubbed Black Sunday by crowds to jeer.

28,000 folks who felt

Heat over a hundred degrees.

The asphalt on Main Street did melt.

No drinking fountains worked with ease.

Food and drink gone quick, bathrooms packed.

Rides set up but not yet in use.

A gas leak was a danger fact.

A tiger and panther got loose.

An invention made more bizarre,

The heads removed by guillotine.

And sketched the body of the Queen,

Her head quickly taken away.

Carved her headless, my statuette,

As last seen Marie Antoinette.

 Will

God created the human race

And gave to all the choice of will.

God watches through all time and place.

Most of humans choose to sin still.

Instead of love, humans hold hate,

Waging of wars does never cease.

All God's creations suffer fate

Of never living in true peace.

Human prejudice is to blame.

Differences in humans do be

Cause to cause chaos in God's name.

There's no hope for humanity.

God's will, not human will, be one

Willing humankind be undone.

And came upon a lovely lake,

Fringed by many a fine fir tree.

And there and then I did choose to

Stay and enjoy this peaceful spot.

Sang in a drunk tank Christmas Eve,

You reminisced of times with her,

Using language most would believe

Filled with inappropriate slur.

And not a lot of merriment,

But does end in a hopeful way,

Ups and downs that Christmas present.

Most played Christmas song in U.K.

And hid the stolen coins therein.

And I forgot about my sin.

Went on to grow up in life's way.

Years later Grandma died, I went

Back again, and to her home where

I remembered my theft event,

Found myself at that cupboard there.

The coins still hidden on the shelf,

It was very tiring no doubt.

Mom wanted us to be alright.

Would get stares in public no doubt.

Diwali happens every year

After summer harvest to cheer.

 How to Fail Successfully

For me "failure" is a bad word.

So even though I don't succeed,

My saying "failure" is not heard.

Not just yet a success indeed..

But though not saying "failure," I

Knew I did fail lots and did hurt,

But then felt better thinking why

Not write a book as an expert

On how to fail but not say such.

What a perfect project for me!

On "failure" I could write so much.

A best seller my book should be.

The book failed to sell, so I guess

My writing it was a success.

 Thanks Giving Back

U.S. Thanksgiving, truth or myth

Of how the concept came to be?

Some of both now confirmed be with

As happens in most history.

Those pilgrims did survive thanks to

Natives of the land helping them.

Feast together both sides did do,

From which Thanksgiving feasts do stem.

But from then on there is no doubt

That white settlors from Europe came

For purpose of spreading about,

Over others' laying false claim.

We the People of the U.S.

Need right past wrongs as We progress.
