 I Am Grateful

I was picked up for DUI,

Ordered by the judge to AA,

Went through the motions to comply,

For a couple of years did stay.

Then chose to relapse, went back out.

Drank to attempted suicide.

God sent me salvation, no doubt.

Back to AA, again I tried,

This time with full surrender of

Myself to be a better one,

With help from God's and AA's love.

My recovery is never done.

Clean and sober continually

For forty years, a better me.
