Yours Not Mine

The government's a spend junkie.
The Dems and Repubs do the same,
Addicted to the spending spree,
Then spinning it in the blame game.
To get elected the pols say
All that the voters want to hear.
Once elected, all pols do play
Self preserve politics of smear.
Cutting spending 'tis not for weak.
We must elect those who have spine
To do what's needed, not just speak
The same old spending junkie line.

Government spending must be cut.
Not stuff I like, anything but.

Bushing Back

Bush whacking is still going strong,
Years after I have left the scene.
But I was still more right than wrong.
Most lib lips just sputter plain mean.
George Dubya - my name's knocked about.
It's getting on my nerves frankly.
Another Prez Bush would no doubt
Take the negative load off me.
I've talked to Jeb, my younger bro,
And tried to get him in the race.
So far his answer has been, "No."
Calling running a wild goose chase.

Dad says his running days are done.
But Mom says she might make a run.

Accident Prone

Oops! There's another spill of oil.
Accidents happen, doncha know?
If there is somewhere we can spill,
To err is human - off we go.
Sorry about the harm we cause
To the ecosystems about.
But what's a few messy faux pas.
The world depends on oil - no doubt!
Some day a profitable way
Will be found for sun energy.
Then needing oil will be passe',
And oil spills simply will not be.

If there's a way it can be done
Humans will surely spill the sun.

Re Packaging

Old Spice has been around since dirt,
And needed a new sound and look.
So I was hired without my shirt.
My sex appeal was all it took.
Viral went my virility.
The ladies - each stood by her man.
She looked at him, then looked at me,
And that's when Old Spice hit the fan.
The social networks are abuzz.
I've given Old Spice life anew.
The smell's the same as always 'twas,
But that's just between me and you.

I am Isaiah of Old Spice.
I say and look oh, oh so nice.

No End Depend

All government dependency
Working for or on its welfare
Is the goal of the powers that be -
Lib lips saying, "Look how we care."
Gov pols, unions and bureaucrats
Are hoping to weather the storm,
And so they spin and make up stats
Till socialism is the norm.
The U.S. libs want Euro's way,
Even as Euro govs go bust.
But still we have the lib lips say
"Only government can you trust."

Unemployment insurance works
Until hired as government clerks.

Dis Grace

My grandfather left in his will,
Half to father, half to Aunt Grace.
Then on to we grandchildren still
Alive. Daddy died. I, in place,
With my siblings took my share.
Aunt Grace was childless, so we thought.
That was the only thing I'd care.
We disliked each other a lot.
She went and adopted a son.
So when Grace died, he got her wealth.
The Courts upheld what she had done -
Gypping us by her sneaky stealth.

I am glad Aunt Grace did die.
I just want my piece of her pie.

Reader's Digest

The morning newspaper I read
As I am eating breakfast, too.
First, I check out the headline lead,
And then I tear it off and chew.
Most times the news is not so good,
And it is hard to swallow it.
Indigestion's a likelihood,
But I eat each page, bit by bit.
Breakfast is the most vital meal,
So I need fast food for the brain.
Well informed is how I do feel.
The tummy's loss is the mind's gain.

It's amazing the weight I lose
Just by eating up the day's news.

Taste of Waste

We can hear Chief of Staff Rahm say,
"A long weekend is where to waste."
"Let's wait till Memorial Day"
"To hide this Sestak thing's foul taste."
So on Friday, the White House gave
Its Bill Clinton tried to help spin
Of good ol' Spector's job to save.
Give Sestak a no job - win, win!
Of course networks now run the news
On weekends continuously.
Fox, to fill time, bombarded views
To keep the foul taste real busy.

Long weekends no longer help fix
Microscandals in politics.

Faced Booked

The Facebook biz belongs to me.
Zuckerberg and I made a deal.
The website was supposed to be
A live yearbook of mine for real.
A checkered legal past should not
Be a ban to me getting mine.
Yes, there was that drug trouble spot
With probation and hefty fine.
I used those magic mushrooms for
Medical reasons - to relax.
Being a genius is a chore,
And stresses me out to the max.

With all thise Facebook billions, I
Can afford a Howard Hughes high.

First but not Last

The U.S. had the A bomb first,
And dropped two of them on Japan.
War ceased after the second burst,
Ending that nuke installment plan.
What if Japan kept up the fight?
Would the U.S. have nuked it out
In many mushroom clouds of might?
Japan would have burned more, no doubt.
And what if none but the U.S.
Had the ability to nuke?
Would war have since been more or less?
Today, somewhere there is a kook,

Who vows the U.S. take its turn
Feeling nuclear wrath, and burn.

Break Time

A single working mom was my
Better or worse identity.
It was expected I should try
To be as busy as could be.
I multi tasked all day and night,
Juggling the manys of my life,
And all done had to be just right,
No matter rising stress and strife.
Expectations of me just grew.
I felt the tightness in my chest.
There was no more that I could do,
Stopped dead by cardiac arrest.

A single working mom is not
Of any use in a grave plot.

Tanks for the Memory

It was just after World War II.
A hunter drove up in a tank,
Drove right into the lake - 'tis true!
It floated a moment, then sank.
So much for the D Day assault.
The D as in duck - doncha know?
That day, ducks got spared by default.
The bubbles bubbled from below.
At last the hunter did appear.
Trudging out of the lake, he cussed
His amphibious tank bum steer.
All it was good for now was rust.

That duck hunter never came back.
We ducks still chuckle - what a quack!

Blown Appetite

Nowhere written on the menu
Is the filibuster entree.
The nominee is careful to
Avoid conservs going that way.
As conservs serve up their air hot,
But only on a tell no mold
Does nominee chew, so to not
Leave nominee out in the cold.
So it is all a waste of time,
As nominee has said before.
There is no good reason or rhyme.
Obese fed gov just pigs out more.

Based on the past, I have a hunch
Fed gov is always out to lunch,

Too White

Most Asian roles in Hollywood
Have gone to Caucasians to play,
Since for starring roles it was good
For the box office, end of day.
Oh, Asians could of course be cast
As needed to fill in the script.
But those race bending times are past.
The changing culture scales have tipped.
Asians today are on the rise,
Stepping on top of the white race.
So it should come as no surprise,
Asian stars will be commonplace.

Since John Wayne portrayed Genghis Khan,
Then an Asian will play big John.

Over Anti

I told my wife that I was ill.
She told me to go to the store
And buy up any anti pill,
No matter what 'twas anti for.
And so I did as my wife said.
I got bags full of anti stuff.
Who would be anti anti med?
I fretted had I got enough.
So then I gulped all antis down
And waited to become all well.
My smile soon did become a frown
Because I did not feel so swell.

The meds did make me anti wife.
Because of her I'm anti life.

Hiroshima

Hiroshima became the first
Population to get bombed by
The weapon that was then the worst
Mankind made to make mankind die.
The atomic age had begun
To change the world that was before.
The age that could not be undone,
That only could make fiercer war.
It's said the Earth will end in fire.
All flesh and bone will burn away,
No longer life left to inquire
Not why but when - perhaps today.

Hiroshima was just the first.
Future A bombs have yet to burst.

Spelling No Be

When I, a newborn baby came,
My folks made a book just for me.
Taking Ima Ryma, my name -
Each initial animally.
Ippopotamust gave the I.
The M was for a Molar bare.
And A for Al a gater guy.
The R stood for Rangatung - rare.
Put the Y for Yammershed shark.
The second M for Musty rat.
And the second A for Aaaaedfark.
Just picture a book with all that!

And perhaps you also can tell,
Mommy and Daddy could not spell.

Donor's Do's and Don'ts

At home, most charity begins,
Be it a billionaire or not.
Some give to church to pay for sins.
Churches should help the helpless lot.
Some churches have had centuries
To get the charity thing right.
Rich folks have their own aims to please,
Often not fellow man's sad plight.
The last in a big pharma line
Gave a hundred million bucks for
An elite poetry mag shrine.
Of course her name is on the door.

Most billionairs main charity
Is pass the bucks to family.

Hammerhead Over Tale

Wherever you happen to be,
I can keep you in my full view
'Cause all the sea is mine to see,
And this hammerhead shark sees you.
On each side of my hammerhead,
I got an eye on each far end.
And so when all is done and said,
You're always in sight, my girl friend,
Unless you're in my blind love spot
Smack dab in front of me mid way.
But that's where the nostrils I've got
Can sniff you out, my main squeeze play.

When I say I got eyes for you,
I really mean it, yes I do.

A celebrity family,
Getting world attention galore.

So the nanny, desiring fame,
Murders all in a most foul way,
Now ev'rybody knows her name.
Her movie's coming - who will play?

Somewhere lurking in Hollywood
A nanny bad - box office good.

Snooki Snub

Jersey Shore Snooki has been dissed
Twice by the U.S. President.
First, on a too tan to tax list,
Told as a joke by the chief gent,
And reported around the world.
Then to the Prez while on the View,
The so profound question was hurled,
Did he believe Snooki could do
Wasilla mayoral duties?
To which the President replied,
Snooki? Who's this Snooki, please?
When poor Snooki heard, oh she cried.

And here's what Snooki had to say,
"I'm gonna tan my tears away."

The Must Must Have

Out to my backyard I do go,
Visions of s'mores danced in my head.
A patio pillow did blow
Into the fire pit burning red.
Stumbling over a bocci ball,
I fell into a tiki torch.
Jumping up quickly from this fall,
I went limping to the back porch.
The pillow was smoking away.
I would leave it to turn to ash.
It is time to restart my day.
So without batting an eyelash,

I did the deed that does not fail,
And mixed myself a big cocktail.

Party Favor

Congress and party politics
Are a problem that's getting worse.
Powers that be don't want a fix.
They're too busy spending the purse.
Party leaders know the proved facts.
It is an alternate out and in.
Those wanting in promise less tax,
And others lie so they can win.
It's up to voters to force out
The party users' long term bust.
Setting term limits would no doubt
Help to rebuild the public trust.

Two party politics is one
Big reason lots of waste is done.

In Touch

I am a Lady oft alone,
But never of a lonely heart.
I share with all, all that's my own.
Each visitor makes me a part.
I'm touched by ups and downs of life.
The birth of a babe at my feet.
The death from suicidal strife.
Touched by victory and defeat.
Millions have touched me in and out,
And I await the millions more.
That's what my being is about,
For all ahead and all before.

I, the Statue of Liberty,
Am all the people touching me.

In Alaska. Sarah Palin
Saw a lady holding a sign,
"Worst governor ever" wrote in.
Sarah had to squash this malign.
She got the lady in her sights,
And hollered to the lady, "Run,"
"You lefty lib with your weak slights."
"You git me mad, you git my gun."
Later, Sarah was serving meat
At suppertime to family.
She said, "It may be hard to eat."
"That's just how grilled lib tends to be."

"Let libs mock me at their own fate."
"'Cause I'm gonna refudiate."

Out in Arms

All militaries have got gays.
A few nations say no big deal.
Other nations deal in harsh ways.
Caught gays get beheaded - for real.
The main gay thing is homo sex,
And that should be a private thing.
If made public then that erects
The need for the brass reacting.
The U.S.A. Dont't Ask, Don't Tell
Was what the government best thought
Could put the thing in a nutshell -
Gays won't be asked, so don't get caught.

If in the service and caught gay,
One gets fired in the U.S.A.

Bill Ben

Ben Franklin out flying his kite
Had a newfangled sensor that,
When the lightning lit up the night,
Tracked the electricity at
The metal key that gave Ben fame,
For proving lightning was a stream
Of electrified air that came
To light up the sky like a dream.
Ben used the electricity
As empowerment of the mind,
Which even then turned out to be
Of the charge to make money kind.

Electricity usage then
Was sensor tracked and billed to Ben.

Cure Skewer

Each day many suffer and die
From disease, while cures are sought.
It takes time and money to try
And then succeed - most tries do not.
But when a cure is found at last,
Then add at least 10 years until
All big gov loops and hoops are passed,
And FDA has had its fill
Of putting bureaucratic fluff
Ahead of doing the care thing.
Big gov has more important stuff
Than people's death and suffering.

There is a cure for all disease.
To find it - butt out big gov, please.

Empress on a Roll

Winters in Russia are so fun,
Sliding down hills on blocks of ice.
But summertime - what can be done?
That thrill of speeding would be nice.
How about coasting down on wheels
In a chair thing rolling on tracks?
Oh, you should have heard my loud squeals.
My ministers had heart attacks,
As I rolled roaring down the hill,
Behind the palace. It was wild.
Every trip - a childlike thrill.
Rollercoasting was my brainchild.

When asked about the ride to rate,
I, Empress Catherine, yelled, "Great!"

Something to Chew On

We watch the antics on T.V.
Of Congress playing useless games.
The Dems and Repubs vie to be
Winning goofs in the halls of shames.
We need to borrow Roman fun.
Congress like the Coliseum
Needs lions to check lost or won
Where we have sent dumbest of dumb.
Non partisan are hungry cats,
Not too picky on what they prey,
Ridding us of show off Hill brats.
Term limits are the better way.

Into Congress let the lions go.
Then we'll watch a really good show.
