 A Meal Appeal

This nut just knew that I would be

An easy target to aim at,

After I fell out of my tree,

Bare ground now my new habitat.

I know this is Mom Nature's way

That some of us nuts be consumed.

And so I just wait for that day

When ill fate comes, and I be doomed.

I did not have too long to wait,

Might as well accept it because

Toward me comes my bushy tailed fate,

And grabs me 'twixt and 'tween both paws.

Maybe this squirrel will throw me back,

Cuz I am one hard nut to crack.

 Your Alligator Shoes

I saw you come walking toward me.

Fancy alligator shoes, you

Wore were first of you I did see,

And the old instincts in me grew,

That you and I were gonna meet,

And one of us the blues would get.

I started with your well shoed feet.

More I went up, more you did fret,

As more and more of you went down,

Till just your head left after while.

Upon your face a real sad frown,

Upon my face a happy smile.

And then this crocodile did choose

To wear your alligator shoes.

 Missed the Call

A young Viking warrior, I fight

In battle every night and day,

Because the only way I might

Join Valhalla is die this way.

When I'm so dead, the Valkyries,

Maidens divine of Odin great,

Will take me to join destinies

Of warriors who pray for this fate.

After a battle I feast with

My kind, we sing and dance and joke.

I eat and drink with kin and kith,

But on a piece of meat I choke.

To Valhalla will not go I,

For in battle I did not die.

 Body of Evidence

As I was walking home from school,

He stopped and pulled me in his car,

Threatening me with words so cruel.

Drove me to a forest not far,

Then awful things to me he did.

At last he strangled me to death.

I looked at myself, just a kid,

So terrified to my last breath.

He dragged my body into trees,

And around me he set a fire,

Hoping to put his mind at ease,

Burned evidence be his desire.

My body floats to where cops be,

My killer's DNA on me.

 "Ex"tra Star Gazing

My ex became my ex when she

Looked to the stars and saw divorce.

Her love was for astrology.

So I cheated on her of course.

As a result the court gave her

The house and most assets I had.

Her departing words to me were

The stars told her that I was bad.

For my ex I decided that

She should always have stars to view

Whenever in home habitat.

'Twas the very least I could do.

Into star signs my ex is grooved,

And so I had her roof removed.

 Bad Day at Work

Robot had a hard day at work.

Its staff had fallen way behind.

Humans made errors that did irk

Robot having a perfect mind.

Each hour passing, Robot got

More and more tense, more errors made.

End of day, errors were a lot.

Just more tension if Robot stayed.

Work had fallen behind too far.

To catch up now, there was no way.

So Robot went to nearby bar.

Tomorrow would be another day.

Robot needed to loosen up,

So ordered a screwdriver, yup!

Bobblehead, a small figurine,

From inside the body, a spring

Holds to the head which can be seen

To "bobble" with any tapping.

Earliest known bobblehead was

Of Buddha centuries ago.

A fifteen foot St. Bernard does,

Guinness says, be largest to show.

Very popular in all sports,

The ever growing demand is

Now all categories and sorts.

The bobblehead's become big biz.

 Look at Those Legs!

I knew I was in trouble when

The shadow came from overhead,

And a hungry owl appeared then.

Talons just missed making me dead.

Missing its mark, the owl hit ground,

Looked mad, stood as tall as it could

On thin, long legs and looked around.

But I stayed real still as I should.

First time I'd seen an owl stand on

Its legs, looking like stilts to me.

Then that owl flew up and was gone.

Very relieved this mouse did be.

From safe underground where I'd run,

Looking at that owl's legs was fun.

 Fried "Eggs"ample

The wife was frying eggs for me

For breakfast thought I'd have some fun.

"Careful, more butter there should be."

"Careful, they're sticking one by one."

"Careful, I think you need more salt."

"And butter, eggs are still sticking."

"If they're ruined, it is your fault."

"I don't think you are listening."

The wife stared at me at did shout,

"Don't tell me on how eggs to fry."

"Do it yourself or go without."

I smiled and calmly did reply,

"Just giving you example of"

"Hearing you when I'm driving, Love."

A large scale disturbance broke out,

Resulting in a police call.

Used to this sort of stuff no doubt,

An alien invasion was

What police were told to expect.

Such widely reported becuz

Of mass hysteria effect

Of many seeing unexplained

Hovering tall shadowy things.

Turned out to be just young lame brained,

Still hopped up with celebrating.

 Habit He Had

"The Horse You Came In On" saloon

In old Fell's Point in Baltimore,

He found it very opportune

At "The Horse" lots of drinks to pour

Down his throat and same time did write

Poems and stories of type and plot,

Macabre and sad, throughout the night.

He drank and wrote and both a lot.

Quite late one night he left "The Horse,"

Passed out, others found him outside.

In a hospital in short course,

Somewhat mysteriously he died.

Back to "The Horse" he had to go,

The ghost of Edgar Allan Poe.

 Prince Albert Victor

Prince Albert Victor was best known

As the troubled royal of the time,

Second in line to British throne.

He was accused of gruesome crime,

Of being Jack the Ripper real,

Serial killer never caught.

He had critics at Court with zeal

Who claimed he was this Jack so sought.

But his defenders said no way

Was he ever in London town

With his bad habits on display

When any Jack killings went down.

Hearing her grandson be accused,

 My Tonsil Transfer

When I was five, sore throat I got.

Mom and Dad took me to see Doc.

I wasn't one to gripe a lot,

But my throat hurt when I would talk.

Doc said my tonsils were to blame.

I'd need to have them taken out.

In the hospital, out they came.

But still my throat was sore no doubt.

Doc told me in a week or so

I'd be fine, and then a sweet dream,

All the adults said yes not no

To my eating loads of ice cream.

Still have my tonsils and they are

Kept preserved in a mason jar.

 Prepare for Battle

The War Chief holds the skull in hand,

Then lets it fall upon the ground,

To prepare for next battle and

The War Chief dances all around

The skull of one the War Chief killed,

The foe leader of battle past.

The War Chief prays fate be fulfilled

That in next battle will be cast

Good omens that the War Chief win,

Leading his warriors in the fight,

And take another skull again.

From the skull he scoops war paint, white.

The War Chief paints his face to be

The skull of fallen enemy.

Black and white, both Momma and I.

Momma, some black but mostly white.

I'm the opposite, wonder why,

Maybe something is just not right.

Momma can see me look at her

And then look back at myself, so

Seeing my puzzled look for sure

That my mostly black face does show,

Momma asks me what's on my mind

That's got me closely looking at.

I ask Momma to help me find

Out if I'm really her own cat.

And Momma smiles and says to me,

"Yes, no matter color we be."

In commitment all the more strong.

Good heartfelt feelings so welcome.

We're grateful and thankful so much.

 Be Myself?

"Be Yourself" is a song you sang,

And I hear your song loud and clear.

But more I try be myself, dang,

I see a failure in the mirror.

You sing of whether bad or good

Happens to me in my life, I

Being myself is all I could

Be until comes my time to die.

But being myself day and night

Only turns out me being wrong.

If I be you I can be right,

Like you sing to me in your song.

Be myself, you do sing to me,

But yourself I prefer to be.

In my offices that I be

The downer to upper so nice.

Many speculations be had

On who my true persona is,

In doing my medical biz.

So much demand for my supply,

Prescriptions to keep the stars high.

You Loved Being Your Mother's Son

You loved being your mother's son.

You sang in your song of your love

For your mother, a special one

Who helped to make your life full of

Goodness and kindness she gave you.

Protective and faithful she did be,

With all that you were going through,

Always there for you hopefully.

Sadly, your mother could not stay,

And came the moment she was gone.

You sang of her going away.

And no longer could you live on.

In pain you sang this song becuz

Your mother now is not but was.

Within the woods one day I found

A tree with lovely purple bloom,

A sight and scent that did abound.

There certainly was enough room

For me to shape the limbs of wood

Into a comfy cottage of

A home for myself oh so good,

For would be built with all my love.

And so I waved my magic wand,

And sprinkled magic dust upon

This tree for which I'd grown so fond.

Transformation was undergone.

Fine tree house this my fairy tree,

Perfect for a fairy like me.

 Still Some Doubt

Two years old and I'm all grown up

Enough, Momma tells me I should

Learn to do some big girl stuff, yup,

For Momma I try to do good.

So I tell Momma when I need

Her help in doing this new stuff.

And Momma helps me, yes indeed,

Cuz I still haven't learned enough.

So Momma and I both go in

To where I'm learning all about

This new stuff and I do begin,

But still can't help having some doubt.

On this, a nice and sunny day.

Then I notice a woman is

Out walking and coming my way.

Wanting to be friendly I move

So easily seen I will be.

Which she does, but seems to behoove

Her to run fast away from me.

Puzzled, I try to follow her,

But she runs faster all the more.

She's acting strange because I'm sure

We've not seen each other before.

 To Death in Sips

Uncork that last bottle of mine,

And pour into a crystal glass,

Sense the bouquet of the fine wine,

A departing pleasure, alas.

With a finger, the wine I stir

To mix up with the poison well.

Upon drinking what will occur?

Will I go to heaven or hell?

I'm liking living less and less.

I guess I did expect much more.

And expected too much I guess.

My life has become such a bore.

Put down the emptied glass to meet

My end of time here, bittersweet.

After a while I realized

I schemed out being victimized,

And perpetrator you would be.

Backed in a knife you used a lot.

At the crime scene the police got

Your fingerprints found on that knife.

For my murder I framed you well.

You went to jail, I went to hell.

 Stamp of Disapproval

A new postage stamp was issued

By the national government.

A controversy then ensued.

The stamp would just not stick when sent

On an envelope as charge for

Privilege of using the mail.

But stampless envelopes galore

Seemed to be caused by one detail.

The only problem the stamp had

Was choice of image on its face.

No doubt the decision was bad,

A politician there to place.

 Belonging to Battle

The battles fought never be done.

It's just the way of humankind.

Some battles lost, some battles won,

And always more battles to find.

And many battles be fought in

The name of God and good and right.

Each side believes that they will win

Because on their side be God's might.

And so through life we humans go,

Fighting the battles night and day,

Knowing for sure what God must know.

It be God's will, to God we pray.

Perhaps in death we will fulfill

The pure truth of what is God's will.

 Color Us Clouds

We are the clouds up in the sky,

Sometimes a few, sometimes a lot.

We're weather's way, we ask not why.

Maybe it's magic, maybe not.

When packed together and all gray,

It means we're full of moisture and

From us all rain or snow we'll spray.

Again, why we don't understand.

Sometimes after we have dropped all

The moisture in us, before we

Depart, Mom Nature makes the call

For a colorful show to be.

Mom Nature oft gives all a plus

When she bounces rainbows off us.

And in my cold fingers you're bound.

 Heads Up

In any government, someone

Is the leader who governs all.

Sometimes good, sometimes bad be done.

And on the leader there does fall

The praise or blame by others who

May or may not care much about

What this leader decides to do.

Whether a friend or foe, no doubt,

The leader always wonders some,

Never sure of who might attack,

May seem an ally quite welcome,

But stabs the leader in the back.

Which came to blows as often does.

With a hammer and dead she was.

I figured that I'd bury her

Late at night out in the back yard.

Her once cute face was wrecked for sure.

Just looking at her was real hard.

Well, I took some newspaper so

I would not have to see her face,

Something to read when she did go

To her eternal resting place.

With daily news wrapped 'round her head.

And point to whom the drink should go.

And that I did so very well.

To bury me way down below.

Of course my feelings were quite hurt.

But as each pile of dirt did fall,

As people in and out would go.

Fantasy turned reality,

Rose covered now this gate does be.

 Dream Shared

When you and I were young we fell

In love with one another then.

In different worlds we two did dwell,

Never be a time and place when

You of high born and I born low

Could together share a life of

Serenity as old we grow,

Having for real each other's love.

The powers that be do forbid

Us two sharing each other's heart

As once when we were young we did.

Now we are forced to be apart.

I dreamt that you dreamt about me,

Only in dreams together we.

 Return of Gizmo

Gizmo, the Gremlin, I am named.

Back in the 1980's I

Got Gremlins movie stardom famed.

Now grown up, me and Billy guy

Did a Mountain Dew T.V. ad

To push the zero sugar brand.

But I thought I was treated bad.

Punk, another gremlin, did land

The more important role by far.

I hear the ad did not do well.

No doubt I shoulda been the star,

Cuz lots more Mountain Dew I'd sell.

I spilled some Mountain Dew on me.

Now a grumpy gremlin I be.

 Planets Go Bump

Second, third, fourth rocks from the sun,

Venus and Earth and Mars went 'round

In orbit pattern long time done.

But strangely one day all got bound

In orbits which did bring the three

Closer and closer each to each.

In a short while no doubt they'd be

All coming within easy reach.

On a collision course for sure,

No longer would they be apart.

This quite unlikely did occur,

Looked like an abstract work of art.

Mars and Venus did intervene,

And Earth was sandwiched in between.

 Jezebel Aged 42

Jezebel married Ahab and

The Queen of Israel she became.

Prophet Elijah's God she banned,

Ordered worship of Baal by name.

Elijah prophesized that she

Would be killed by one of her own.

A nephew, King then came to be,

And Jezebel was overthrown.

Dressed in her best, servants threw her

From a palace window to where

Her corpse was torn apart for sure

By stray wild dogs who ate her there.

Elijah's prophecy came true,

Jezebel died, aged 42.

 Leave Behind

Make a fresh start in this New Year,

So what to leave behind do I

Want from last year to disappear?

As always I resolve to try

To leave behind some weight I've gained

Over last year, especially

During the holidays obtained,

Eating all those goodies I be.

Better diet and exercise

I know is how some pounds to drop.

But as always I realize

Eating goodies is hard to stop.

Leave a few pounds I have in mind,

From my behind to leave behind.

 Poetry for My Darling

For my darling I strive to be

His favorite poet at night.

A well versed satisfier, me,

My poetry brings us delight.

With flirtatious foreplay at first,

And then do my poetic stuff.

Again repeat, I am well versed,

My darling cannot get enough

Of rhythmic poetry I turn

Into such pleasure we both share,

Bringing to a climax the yearn

To stay forever tangled pair.

Nightly in bed is couplet time

When both of us do come to rhyme.

 Betrayal Afoot

A bring together I did be,

A foot fetish shared 'twixt and 'tween.

They became Wifey and Hubby.

I was star of their bedroom scene.

For quite a while I was the must

In making their connection work,

Satisfying this couple's lust.

Then one day she called him a jerk.

She had caught him cheating on her,

Something she put her foot down on,

And kicking Hubby out for sure.

For stepping out, he now was gone.

Wifey and Hubby were kaput.

He'd gotten off on the wrong foot.

 Hilda's Night In

Saturday night home all alone,

Hilda has no where else to go,

So she turns on the gramophone

To dance away on tippy toe.

She dons her bright red leotard,

White frill of lace about her waist,

And dance slippers she does regard

Giving her feet feel to be graced.

Then 'round the room Hilda does dance,

Moving weightlessly through the air,

Eyes closed and smiling, in a trance

As Ginger Rogers with red hair.

Enthusiasm does abound

In Hilda, every inch and pound.

 For the Record

When Bug got me for Christmas, she

Took a picture of me and now

Here I am on All Poetry,

The subject of a contest, wow!

Bug says that she does like this shot

Of me cuz creepy I appear.

But in the box I shook a lot,

So not looking my best, I fear.

But hope that Bug does not think I

Am gonna be a Chuckie sort.

So this poem is my reply

That I take this as a good sport.

On this site I do say to all

Bug's gonna be pleased with this doll.

 Listening to the Red Poppy

When I arrived I saw it grow

In the middle of the grave there.

A red poppy the breeze did blow,

The bloom fully open to share

This flower's sentiments with me,

Expressing hope I would not mind

Here this red poppy chose to be.

A reminder that humankind

Does seem preoccupied with war.

Sad, too many a child left, and

Not have a parent anymore.

This poppy knew I'd understand.

Ultimate sacrifice he gave,

The red poppy on my Dad's grave.

 Flight Plight

From L.A. to New York City

The two of us are s'posed to fly,

A bizness trip for her and me.

She got on the right plane, but I,

Through human error instead went

To Denver, and I knew for sure

A lot of anger she would vent,

I'd been separated from her.

Of course she was assured we two

Would be together soon someday,

Probably after we both flew

Separately back to L.A.

Airline screw up phenomenon,

I shoulda been a carryon.

 War Maze

The maze of war we all are in.

No one has ever found the end.

Sometimes we lose, sometimes we win.

Ever changing be foe or friend.

All of us wander 'round the maze.

Once in a while we find some peace.

But through all history's nights and days,

War found by us does never cease.

The maze of war has a way out.

That is a truth we've always known.

Out of war's maze is peace no doubt.

But war's become the comfort zone.

We know the awful truth of war,

But let lies keep us fighting more.

 Will of God for Me

The will of God I find within

The Bible where I can find all

The human weaknesses to sin.

But strength comes when I heed God's call

To strive for goodness as I live.

But being human, when I err,

If I ask, then God does forgive.

Burdens on me, God helps me bear.

I need to keep myself full of

Good thoughts to do good deeds to be

Worthy to always have God's love,

Helping me make a better me.

I pray my choices do fulfill

My prime purpose to do God's will.

 Miracle Drug

With all the woes and ills I find

Around the whole world every day,

Caused by choices of humankind,

I still have hope we'll find the way

To put the differences aside,

And live together all in peace,

Spreading the harmony worldwide.

All hate will end, all war will cease,

Through miracle of medicine

Given to all humanity.

Choices just for good will begin.

From bad will be immunity.

A better world, there is hope still

That humans can and humans will.

 Christmas Tinsel

We are called tinsel, old French for

Meaning to sparkle, which we do.

We're hung on Christmas trees galore,

Sparkling in varied shiny hue.

At first from metals we were made

Into strands and garlands to be

Too little or too much displayed,

Decorating the Christmas tree.

Now mostly we're of plastic form

With a metallic finish coat,

But still much a decorative norm

Upon which viewers gripe or gloat.

Children and pets should not eat us,

Such causing a health hazard fuss.

U.S. State of the Union, 2024

U.S. state of the union be,

Now early 2024,

On the brink of catastrophe,

Being pushed closer to world war.

Politicians and bureaucrats,

Every level of government

Scurry 'round sinking ship like rats,

Power mad and incompetent.

Right blame left and left blame right.

Prejudicial discriminate

Against others they want to fight.

Infected nation filled with hate.

State of the disunioned U.S.

Is truthfully in state of mess.

 Dogging Me

I'm watching football on T.V.

When Casey comes grring his wish

That he's expecting lunch from me.

'Tween his teeth he's got his food dish.

I tell him just to wait a bit

Until the next commercial but

Casey in front of me does sit,

And dumps his dish onto my gut.

When I still don't move, then my pup

Grabs onto the the T.V. remote.

Suddenly the screen freezes up.

Casey gives me a look of gloat.

I'd better fix his chow because

Casey's got the remote on paws.

 Class Clown

Monday, my teacher asked the class

What food preparing we did do

Over the weekend, most did pass.

But I the class clown just had to

Give the teacher, who was real strict

On correct pronunciation,

A wry replay that would inflict

A bad joke on everyone.

So seriously I did start

On baking from a recipe,

And at the end I did impart

The punchline expected from me.

"Synonym rolls I tried to bake,"

"Just like my grammar used to make."

 "Incy Wincy Spider"

"Incy Wincy Spider" did be

My favorite nursery rhyme,

When Mama would sing it to me,

And which she sang many a time,

Especially when it would rain,

And I could not go out to play.

Mama would sing this song again,

And always brighten up my day.

And the song taught a lesson well.

Failures in life would fall indeed.

But from each failure I could tell

How next time to better succeed.

Whenever a spider I spy,

Hearing Mama sing makes me cry.

Waitressing in a Ye Olde  pub,

Skimpily clad, corseted tight,

Slinging overpriced drinks and grub,

Not exactly this gal's delight.

But it's a gig to pay the bills.

Glad to be young and cute becuz

Ain't worth crap my waitressing skills.

My bod brings great tips, yeah it does.

The boss has eyes for me for sure,

So I have to play it real coy,

And try not to irritate her.

This job supports my lover boy.

Let'em wait for this waitress wench,

Smoke break out on the alley bench.

 Last Sensing

My body is about to die,

And on a journey I do go

Out of the earth into the sky.

The blackness of deep space does show.

I feel the nothingness around,

Taste bitterness being alone,

Hear the so sadly silent sound,

And smell the fear of the unknown.

I'm mindful of such senses had

Within a body nearing end.

No sense if death be good or bad

Or what the future may portend.

Then all my senses cease to be,

And just my soul is still with me.

 Color Me White

A spruce tree, I have needles green

That unlike leafed trees I do wear

Through each and every season scene.

Always my needles do be there.

Yes, old fall off, but new ones grow.

With needles I never have need

To bear bare limbs cuz ever so,

Always lots of needles indeed.

Now in the winter there can be

Times when my green needles turn white.

Such occasions I'm as a tree

Even more of an awesome sight.

When winter snow and ice occur,

This fir is spruced up in white fur.

 Missing Her

This hut is lonely without her.

Seems like forever she's been gone.

Oh I really miss her for sure.

I am just barely hanging on,

Staring out the window to see

If she's coming down the pathway.

I'm filled up with anxiety,

And been a nervous wreck all day.

She knows when she leaves me that I

Become a sad and lonesome one.

So when she left I begged her why

She had to go get her hair done.

Hope the Missus will soon be home,

And hug and kiss her lonely gnome.

 Love Lost, Friendship Found

The two of us, young and in love,

Decided that a married life

Would be the happy ending of

Our dream as husband and wife.

Together we did lots of stuff,

Often for appearances sake.

But somehow that was not enough.

Excuses each of us would make.

Over time we two grew apart,

But pretended that all was well.

Neither one of us had the heart

To each other the truth to tell.

As happens sometimes in divorce,

We became good friends in due course.

 Doggone

I was a fifty cent doll prize

Stuffed in an egg in a machine.

Hardly an inch long was my size,

But looked kinda spooky and mean.

Little sis "won" me, and told her

Older bro that indeed I be

A voodoo doll and I for sure

Would grab his soul if she stuck me

With a safety pin, both of us

She waved in front of older bro.

Over me both did make such fuss.

It was fun just watching their show.

Watching the human girl and boy,

Dog tore me up as a chew toy.

 Now I Know

It was over for you, you knew.

Maybe you tried to warn me of,

But now I'm one who knows it too.

Sadness, pain and guilt with my love

For you because I was not there

When you were feeling so alone.

A younger you and I would share

Your feelings, I wish I had known,

And maybe again, heart to heart,

I could have eased your pain and strife.

But the two of us grew apart.

Full of despair, you took your life.

The more I write the more I drink,

Oh so many bottles of wine.

Must have a quire of gems I think,

Written down my poetry fine.

Pen in one, glass in other hand,

Both saccadic now do appear.

Wine spills on my rainsook shirt and

Still an hour to the New Year.

A tittynope of wine no doubt.

I chug it down and then pass out.

 My Hope for 2024

2023 said goodbye.

2024 says hello.

Another year older am I.

Another year wiser, hope so.

I know what's wrong, I know what's right.

I'm blessed with friends and family,

And hope they all know, day and night,

Loving help they will get from me.

And strangers met, I'll try to share

With each something useful and good.

And let each know I truly care,

Living each day well as I could.

When 2024 is done

I hope I've been a worthy one.

 Unloved

Hydra, a water creature, I

Was raised by goddess Hera, who

Told me I was special and why,

Kill Hercules for her I'd do.

She filled my many heads with hate

For Hercules who she said would

Come fight me and would meet his fate

Of being killed by me for good.

But then I learned that Hera lied.

So when Hercules came to fight,

All of my many heads just cried.

I was wrong, Hercules was right.

I gave Hercules victory.

Hera never really loved me.

 Running Late

December 24th, the day

The calendar on the wall shown.

Just a short while I meant to stay

Resting the chair on my own.

But doggone if I didn't fall

Asleep while sitting in the chair,

And snoozing through the hours all.

The lateness I was not aware,

But then the Missus yelled at me

That I'd slept through the 24th,

And now the 25th it be,

And I was still stuck in the north.

 It's Up to Santa

Me and the wife and kids this year

Begun in July to string lights,

So by Xmas the house'd appear

An all time champ of festive sights.

Only house in these boondocks so

We would shine out in time and place.

In these dark woods, wow we would glow.

Prob'ly see us from outer space.

At our road turnoff we can

Charge an entry fee to drive by

The lit up house, a bizness plan

To make a country redneck cry.

A million lights strung 'round to see,

If Santa brings 'lectricity.

 My Christmas Story

My story was first written by

Robert L. May who wrote it for

Child's coloring book to supply

Montgomery Ward Department Store.

May's office in Chicago's Loop

Looked out into dense fog one day.

May could not see through the gray goop.

Then inspiration came his way,

And that's when I first came to light,

In the year 1939,

To help Santa's trip through the night,

Through any and all fog to shine.

I'm now with Santa every year.

I'm Rudolph the red nosed reindeer.

 Rescued

I was on a Christmas cruise when

A bit drunk, overboard I fell.

I washed ashore an island then.

Who knew how long there I would dwell!

'Twas a deserted desert isle.

A few coconut trees did grow,

The food from which need last a while.

How I might fish I did not know.

So I made due each day and night,

A week or so I do believe.

And then I saw a welcome sight,

The perfect gift for Christmas Eve.

There came a boat to rescue me,

Aboard the boat a Christmas tree.
