Sense Sonnet - Acher

 Face to Face

An old woman was there to see,

A young girl like me long ago.

The old woman was watching me.

Why she was watching, I don't know.

Maybe she was remembering when

She was young, but I can't be sure.

We each look away now and then.

I did not want to upset her.

And so I smiled and she smiled too.

So I was glad I chose to smile,

A nice gesture for me to do.

We kept smiling a little while.

Two faces staring in the mirror,

Old I was there, young I was here.
