Sense Sonnet - Acher
Father's Day Tradition
I look in my young daughter's face,
And see a lot of her Mom there,
Now long gone from this time and place,
Just the two lives now we both share.
It's Father's Day, of course I get
Another crazy tie and kiss
From my daughter, tradition set
Over six years of such sweet bliss.
In my closet I put this tie
With the other five she picked out,
All tasteless, outlandish, so I
Would get stares in public no doubt.
In my closet the skeleton,
Her murdered Mom that I had done.
