Sense Sonnet - Acher
Tragic Tale
Two young children were left alone
In a ghetto tenement flat.
No heat and both chilled to the bone,
Made a small fire, around it sat.
Window blew open and the wind
Spread sparks from the fire all around.
Ceiling flames began to descend.
Path to safety could not be found.
Minutes later rescuers came
And pulled the children's bodies' out.
News reports called it such a shame,
A needless tragedy no doubt.
A rescue from that fire I got,
But my younger sister did not.
