Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Christmas Tinsel
We are called tinsel, old French for
Meaning to sparkle, which we do.
We're hung on Christmas trees galore,
Sparkling in varied shiny hue.
At first from metals we were made
Into strands and garlands to be
Too little or too much displayed,
Decorating the Christmas tree.
Now mostly we're of plastic form
With a metallic finish coat,
But still much a decorative norm
Upon which viewers gripe or gloat.
Children and pets should not eat us,
Such causing a health hazard fuss.
