 Now I Know

It was over for you, you knew.

Maybe you tried to warn me of,

But now I'm one who knows it too.

Sadness, pain and guilt with my love

For you because I was not there

When you were feeling so alone.

A younger you and I would share

Your feelings, I wish I had known,

And maybe again, heart to heart,

I could have eased your pain and strife.

But the two of us grew apart.

Full of despair, you took your life.

"What ifs" cannot be reconciled

When a mother buries her child.
