Going, Going, Gone

American parents once dreamed
Prosperity would ever grow
As did the kids, and so it seemed
The better life was all we'd know.
But then we let big government
Grow into selfish bully brats.
Worse than socialism, we went
To being conned by bureaucrats,
Who only care about the now,
And playing at the power game.
It's really no mystery how
To such a sad state we became.

American prosperity -
A true national tragedy.
