Sense Sonnet - Steamer

 Random Passersby

Busy street, I was walking down.

A panhandler did glare at me.

Being new to this part of town,

I hoped no trouble there would be.

Then this panhandler got up from

Where he'd been sitting on the street,

And in my direction did come.

Then face to face, we two did meet,

As strangers in this time and place,

But connected in lives we live.

The panhandler, scowl on his face,

A stern message to me did give.

The panhandler made me aware

That I need panhandle elsewhere.
