Sense Sonnet - Steamer
Forgot Us!
We, a bouquet of roses, he
Bought as peace offering for her.
Now on a city park bench, we
Were left by him, when did occur
A sudden downpouring of rain,
And he ran off, not to get wet,
As out of sight and mind, he'd lain
Us near, no doubt he'll be upset
When later, halfway home, recalls
We lovely roses he had bought.
And empty handed, back he crawls
For her forgiveness, he so sought.
A hefty price for us he spent,
But will she buy his hoped intent?
