Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Durian Fruit
I am called the durian fruit.
The Malay word, dure, means thorn.
When I'm picked in human pursuit,
If picker's wise, hardhat is worn.
Like dirty gym socks I do smell,
So in some public places banned.
For many beasts, I do taste well,
So sniff out where my tree does stand.
Eaten as food, humans enjoy.
And as an aphrodisiac,
Non food appetites I can buoy.
For multi use I have a knack.
When confidence in me is placed,
I can become an acquired taste.
