Sense Sonnet - Pumper
"Shiver Me Timbers"
"Shiver Me Timbers" pirates said
In works of fiction in oath mock
When something weird happened that led
The pirates to a state of shock.
Based on real nautical slang that
Referred to wooden timbered ships
Which were the pirates' habitat.
The wood would "shiver" in bad tips.
Many a pirate also had
Need for a peg leg made of wood,
And sometimes when the ship rocked bad,
Overboard went the leg, not good!
Sunk below the cold ocean deep,
One more "shiver me timbers" "bleep."
