Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Cage Free

I remember when you bought me,

Paid lots of money to the store.

Such a beautiful bird I be,

Had to possess me all the more.

So in a fancy birdcage, I

Was hung where I could best be shown

To all your friends who happen by,

To show me off and call your own.

"Pretty bird, Pretty bird," you would say,

As I waited for your mistake,

And which came, made my getaway,

And flight to freedom I did make.

I've flown your cage, out of your sight,

But left my farewell feather, bright.
