Sense Sonnet - Chiller

 Just a Brief Pause

Chicago 'long the Lake at night,

Waves gently lapping on the shore.

I briefly pause, such sound and sight

With me so many times before.

But rarely do I ever pause

To take time to appreciate.

I guess I rarely do because

I'm a product, this urban fate

Has stuck within this place and time,

To use the beauty here around

To take advantage, and so I'm

Off to do mischief as I'm bound.

Just a brief pause for this street thug,

Lookin' for someone ripe to mug.
