 Back on Route 66

Being an Oklahoma boy,

I often drove Route 66,

Criss cross the state was my pure joy.

And now, yes, twenty twenty six,

This old highway does celebrate

One hundred years, "The Mother Road."

And so I've returned to my state

To redrive memories bestowed.

I sure felt honored when news came

That this highway would also be

Called Will Rogers highway, nickname,

After the sudden death of me.

So in my Cord L-29,

Drivin' 'long this highway of mine.
