Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Gift of Good Deed
I used to think do gooders had
Contagion, so avoided them,
Because real good at doing bad,
Causing my life to be mayhem,
Bringing to all, trouble and ill.
My family and friends sure tried
To help me, but I had no will
To be helped, so chose suicide.
In Chicago on one late night,
To Lake Michigan edge I went.
Thought I was out of sound and sight,
Jumped in, but some came to prevent.
That good deed by some strangers done,
Left me a very grateful one.
