Last Christmas you gave me your heart,

You sing about in a sad song.

Day after Christmas we did part.

I never meant to do you wrong.

You sing I gave your heart away.

I did  but gave it back to you,

Keeping it just last Christmas day.

Give you my heart I could not do,

Because in my own heart I could

Not give to you what you gave me.

I felt no future for us good.
