Sense Sonnet - Steamer
Umbrella Blues
An umbrella beckoned to me
To shelter under it before
The terrible storm came to be
With oceans of rain to downpour.
I had been warned to beware of
An umbrella I did not know.
But seeing the dark clouds above,
Under that 'brella I did go.
But right away I knew that I
Had made a mistake on this act.
A bad, bad umbrella was why,
Which too soon proved to be a fact.
Napoleon, this 'brella's name,
Because blown apart it became.
