Sense Sonnet - Acher
Moth Into Flame
I sang a song of a pop queen
Who had heard fame and fortune call.
She got caught up there 'twixt and 'tween,
Came the fast rise, then faster fall.
Down deep I knew I sang this song
Not only for her but for me.
It's so easy to numb the wrong,
Escaping from reality,
Pretending that I see the light,
Even though I'm feeling the heat.
Me and myself - who'll win the fight.
I am beguiled by that sweet beat.
I too do chase fortune and fame,
Just another moth into flame.
