 Letters to Burn, Whiskey to Drink

I have been cheating on my wife,

And I really should know better.

Been a pastor my adult life.

I read in "The Scarlett Let"

The pastor there did burn an "A"

Into his chest so to repent.

So I decided that today

I would replicate that event.

Bottle of whiskey I drown in,

Doing my version of the task

As a repentance for my sin.

Why all the whiskey one might ask?

The whole word, "ADULTERER," I

Do burn into my chest is why.
