 Zechariah 14

First temple of Jerusalem

Allowed itself to fall in sin.

Prophets proclaimed this troublesome,

A divine cleansing would begin.

The city's enemies became

Able to defeat Israelites,

Who then begged forgiveness in shame,

And strove to turn their wrongs to rights.

Within the city came to be

A sincere desire to fulfill

The promise of the prophecy,

A second chance to do God's will.

Israelites cleansed of shame and guilt,

And the second temple was built.
