 Campout

When I was age nine my dad did

Lead a scout troop and I was one.

I was an introverted kid.

Others seemed to have all the fun.

There was a camping trip that year.

To a nearby forest we went.

In the scout circle I would hear

The actor kid ham leaky tent,

The joker kid forget punchline,

A lot of laughter most did share

'Round the campfire and that was fine.

None seemed to notice I was there.

Years later I learned some scouts had

Been molested by my own dad.
