Continent Crossing

Challenge - twenty eighteen the year,
And o'er Antarctica the place.
Solo skiers cross the frontier,
O'Brady and Rudd make the race.
Over nine hundred miles each ski,
Via the south pole 'twist and 'tween.
O'Brady the winner does be,
First to make the solo trek scene.
The two men braved the trek across
The frozen swirling world of white,
Their bodies weakened by weight loss,
No nature mercy for their plight.

The first and second place the score,
Both in annals of polar lore.
