Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Dad was Dad

Dad was with me when I was scared
To be all alone in the dark.
And he was with me when I dared
To first ride my bike in the park.
Dad was with me all through schooling,
And after my car accident.
Happy with me at my wedding.
Sad with me when Mom's last breath went.
Dad was with me when I divorced.
There with me at the kids' ball game.
With me when wanted, never forced.
Be it good or bad, Dad just came.

These memories of Dad I save.
Dad's Day, I'm with Dad at his grave.
