Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Sweetness of Life

He loved the game and played it well.
The pride and joy of Soldier Field.
His spirit helped the Bears excel
To be the champs his drive would wield.
At his own time, he did retire
From active duty in the game.
His life continued to inspire
By serving needs in his good name.
Yet when his health began to fail,
It was his way to die, to choose
To work so others might avail
Of life savers, he could not use.

Some won, some lost, but in each quest,
Walter Peyton showed us the best.
