Sense Sonnet - Acher

 Pride in Me

When I was a teenager, young,

I felt different from friends I had,

Becoming target of foul tongue

And deed that made me feel so bad.

But also different were my folks,

Who both made great effort to give

Me right love to deal with bad jokes

Others made, and I grew to live

And let live any others who

Did not have folks of loving kind,

Helping their child to think and do

As one with a forgiving mind.

My Mom and Dad, most gratefully,

Instilled that sense of pride in me.
