 Disappointed

I adopted a family,

And their child soon became my own,

A favorite, this child for me,

Watching my child through the years grown.

No doubt, my child is very bright,

And in school always performs well,

Which is of course to my delight.

But one night's homework, I could tell

My child's laziness did show through.

Lots of errors done fast and loose.

And my child wanted me to do

The dog ate the homework excuse.

My child does know that such does irk,

So would not eat my child's homework.
