 Whale of a Tale

So many tales of whales there be

Told to all in prose and in song

Of the largest "fish" in the sea.

But technically, such tales be wrong

When a whale as a fish is called.

Even in Bible's Jonah tale,

When Jonah's swallowing befalled

By a "big fish," in truth a whale.

So as I sit on a ship's bow,

And see a giant whale go by,

Indeed a tale to tell somehow

About a whale up in the sky.

I told my tale, all thought absurd,

Largest mammal turned largest bird!
