 Gift Etiquette

For Christmas, I got a fruitcake

Sent by an ex boyfriend of mine.

And so for gift etiquette sake

A thank you note I did design.

I wasn't really sure about

His motivation sending me

A kind of ho hum gift no doubt.

But polite I wanted to be.

Politeness also should include

Giving a gift for gift received,

And so not wanting to be rude,

This short thank you note I conceived,

"I thank for this gift, I do,"

"And  am regifting back to you."
