Sense Sonnet - Acher

Groundless

A baby boomer, I grew up
Playing outside, digging in dirt,
Rolling around like a young pup.
A dirt bath did more good than hurt.
The experts say that dirt gave me
Protection from diseases that,
As I got older, could then be.
Thank dirt, I am a healthy stat.
Most kids today don't get in touch
With dirt the way that I used to.
Kids today stay inside so much.
We do dirt cover up, we do.

My youth fun dirt playground is not -
Covered in a paved parking lot.
