That it isn't right to applaud
Any racism. Then the facts
Of lessons that she really said
Got lost in the race to bait race,
And jumped to conclusions were fed
By players in a frenzied pace.
Thankfully, the truth did prevail,
And Shirley Sherrod got some due.
Many powers that be did fail
To check or care of what was true.
