Bumps

A British commission gave me
A quite generous grant so that
I could study the bumps that be
In and about my own bath mat.
I studied how the bumps do form,
And move about and interact,
Seeking to discover a norm
About the bumps that could be fact.
But, alas, 'twas inconclusive
What makes the bath mat bumps behave
With unknown properties that give
The thing a mysterious flav.

The bath room mat bumps one suspects
Are things of physics so complex.
