Sense Sonnet - Chiller

Accomplice

The two of us kidnapped the kid.
Then we made the ransom demand.
The cash was paid for what we did.
It all went just as we had planned.
But then, the kid fell out of bed,
And was unconscious on the floor.
There was a big hole in his head.
Shortly after, he breathed no more.
The body we'd buried was found.
The writing was then on the wall.
No longer safe to stick around,
I left Bruno to take the fall.

Called the crime of the century,
I helped kill the Lindbergh baby.
