Sense Sonnet - Pumper

For Father

A Founding Father, he was one,
That gave a new nation a birth.
Author, teacher, librarian,
Publisher and inventor well worth
All the tributes given to him,
For his ideas and deeds of good,
Put forward with vigor and vim,
For the best of citizenhood.
Serious, when needed to be;
But, preferring humor and wit
To emphasize humanity,
And how we all might benefit.

For Father and for me, I'm glad
Benjamin Franklin was my Dad.
