 Taking Advantage

The Carolina wren I'm named

By humans who build lots of stuff

That I make use of, so I'm famed

For being courageous enough

To nest where human stuff does be.

Now, an old house I'm checking out,

Looking for a good nook for me.

Needs a new coat of paint, no doubt,

But I'm betting, won't happen soon,

So taking advantage today

Of situation opportune,

A lot of paint peeling away.

These peeling paint strips I'll use best,

Material to build my nest.
