Sense Sonnet - Steamer

 Sirens

On an island we Sirens live,

Luring ships by singing our song,

Then slaughter to sailors we give.

But with one ship, our plan went wrong.

Odysseus on his ship did

Order wax in ears of his crew,

Then tied him to a mast as bid,

For he yearned to hear our song, true.

Odysseus sailed past, we sang,

He heard, and begged to be let free.

But his crew did obey him, dang!

Ship and all crew sailed on safely.

Disappointed, ship got away.

We're not used to such clever prey.
