Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Retrospect Back

Oh yes my dear, we were so young

When we first met, and you swept me

Off my feet, your sweet looks and tongue.

Of course they thought a fool I be.

But they could not keep us apart,

And being both of legal age,

We legalized love in each heart

To bond our lives, though they did rage.

But we did prove them wrong, my dear.

Through the decades, the better off

Was our enduring love each year,

And even they gave up their scoff.

Dear husband, I'm so glad we wed,

No matter what my parents said.
