Sense Sonnet - Steamer
The Barefoot Drunk
He often likes to go barefoot,
While drinking, a bottle in hand.
Then in due course, not staying put,
Goes walking 'round, arms waving grand,
Losing grip on the bottle that
Hits the floor and smashes into
Broken pieces of glass strewn flat,
While in his bare feet, he walks through.
When from his drunken stupor, he
Awakes some future time ahead,
He'll feel how sore his bare feet be,
See many cuts, all bloody red.
Oft while drinking, he takes us off.
At him barefoot, we shoes just scoff.
