Sense Sonnet - Tickler

 Turn of the Cheek

Wife does like to dominate me,

First speaking to me in words tense.

Of course, subservient I be,

Never offering a defense.

Wife continues in her berate,

As I hang down my head in shame,

Keeping silent on my ill fate,

And no excuses do I claim.

Wife then goes to the closet, and

I do know what is coming next.

She points at me, whip in her hand,

Assuring me she is quite vexed.

Butt slap from wife, and I stay meek,

But always turn the other cheek.
