 Homecoming

Lots of light years through space we roam,

On a mission of return to

Place long ago we had called home.

But as space travel knowledge grew,

A few of us left home to go

Where none of us had gone before,

Since with knowledge, along did grow

Threats of destruction, more and more.

It took a long time, but we found

A new place to call home, but we

Just had to know, and so be bound

To find out how our old home be.

We hoped to find some life, instead

Found planet Earth, once home, now dead.
