Sense Sonnet - Acher

 With the Waves

Aboard the ship, the sailor is

Reading a letter received from

His girlfriend writing him, gee whiz,

The Dear John contents strike him dumb,

As on the deck he wanders 'round,

His feelings down in a dark place,

Then to a sudden fury bound.

Both sad and mad are on his face.

He grabs at me upon his head,

Violently shakes me in the air.

I think he'll calm down, but instead,

Overboard, I'm tossed in despair.

Lost at sea a long time before,

Now I'm a white cap reaching shore.
