Sense Sonnet - Acher

 Soured

With brothers, I went off to war

To do my duty just like them.

More and more of them fell as more

Around us be all the mayhem,

Of fighting, bleeding, dying in

A time and place that never would

Be a cause we would ever win.

Just the pawns played to do no good

In the game, nation leaders play,

In back and forth power attack.

Somehow I survived till the day,

No longer needed, I came back.

I did my duty, came back home,

But now I'm homeless and just roam.
