 The Cat Who Collected Stars

Cat lover and astronomer,

Jerome Lelande, long time ago

Made new constellation occur,

Felt an honor he should bestow,

And so named it after his cat,

Believing this collection of

Stars needed be recognized that

Be "purr"fect for cat he did love.

Sadly, soon after his peers deemed

Such naming to be an erred fluke.

So, what the astronomer dreamed

Was cancelled out in a rebuke.

A constellation by the name,

Felix the Cat, had short lived fame.
