Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Peace in the Beginning
Oft they came to the trading post,
Two young maidens, Arapaho.
They loved the water wheel the most,
Would sit hours, watching the flow.
The mountain man called Trader Jack
Ran the post, and liked when these two
Would make the journey and come back
To visit him, their friendship grew.
He learned their language, they learned his,
Many good visits all would share.
When Jack was doing trading biz,
Water wheel watching by the pair.
A time and place when first whites were,
Before white warfare would occur.
