Sense Sonnet - Chiller

 Beauty Be Beast

A newcomer to these woods, I

Am walking when I come upon

A beautiful plant, sprouting high,

Entrancing, to which I am drawn.

Colorful blooms waving about,

Enticing fragrance in the air,

Leaves brushing me, so soft no doubt,

As if beckoning me to share

Connection with it for a time.

And I accept without a pause.

But as it envelopes me, I'm

Aware the opening of jaws.

All beauty sensed by me now ceased,

As eaten now by hungry beast.
